    Lovely pics. @Hostafan1 and @Pat E.
I don't suppose you get anything vicious in the waters down your way @Pat E?

Not that I can think off Punkdoc. Ā There used to be some platypus down there when we first bought the property, but we haven’t seen them for several years. Ā Hubby did get bitten by a brown snake when he was repairing a fence and he was a sick boy for about 18 months.Ā

I quite like most snakes ... but I think I'd draw the line at the sort you get @Pat E :o

I had intended to have a gentle day today after being woken so early by the blackbirds ... however I'm visiting @WonkyWomble tomorrow (mucho excitemento) and off-loading a stash of tomato and squash plants so that I have room to pot mine on ... so I thought I'd better make something to slam in the oven when I come home ... so I made a big pot of ragu and turned half of it into a lasagne ... the other half we can have for supper tonight with spag .......... but I also made a Quiche Lorraine, so we could have that tonight if we prefer, and the rest of the ragu could go in the freezer.Ā  Then I got two loads of washing on the line, moved some pots on the terrace because I spotted the windowcleaner on his way to us ... in the middle of that the postman arrived with my lnew batch of absolutely gorgeous merino and silk yarn to make myself a lacy top when I've finished this more prosaic jumper.Ā  Now the kitchen is clean and tidy, all the plants have been watered, and i'veĀ  filed some paperwork ....... now I'm going to have a mug of soup and put my feet up for a little while.Ā Ā

Hello everyone.Ā  Public holiday for Ascension tomorrow so weekly raid on SM this morning then lunch.Ā  Ā We had rain overnight and it's been cool all day with more rain expected later and more over the next few days tho not huge amounts.Ā  Ā Suits me as I have plants to move form the rose beds to the new shrub and tree area and have been unable to get at them while waiting for the teenage fuzz to turn into proper grass.

I shall go and see the chooks and then do some more rust painting.Ā  3 chairs done.Ā  3 chairs half done and 6 more to go plus 2 metal table bases and then the gates but I'll need sunny days for those.

Planning to try a vegetarian sweet potato and black bean chilli with cheesy dumplings for dinner and have a dozen limes to start salting for lime pickle.Ā  OH is on his last jar and it takes a couple of weeks to mature.

I hope you garden hasn't suffered too much @punkdoc but they do grow back.Ā  Got home form Chelsea one year to fine every single hosta was lace, 12 clumps of rhubarb shredded and all my recently put out pumpkin and courgette babies pummelled to death by a hail tornado.Ā  Scars and scabs all over the stems of trees, shrubs and climbers but, apart from the baby veg it did all recover.

Your lad looks lovely @Hostafan1 so I do hope you get to visit and be visited very often.

@Pat E Can't find your lovely river pic on the puzzle site.Ā  What have you called it?

Happy Eid to all concerned.Ā  I used to love rice pudding made with cardamom but OH said he wasn't keen so I haven't made it for decades.Ā  The Belgians put rice pudding in tarts but I've never fancied that.Ā

    I very imaginatively called it ā€œRiver filling upā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
and it’s under NSW I think, Obelixx. Ā If you look under last created, as well, I think. šŸ¤”Ā

it actually made a nice puzzle. I use 63 pieces or thereabouts.Ā

Hello folks, I didn't know you could do things like jigsaws @Pat E - love your river. Always wanted to live somewhere with a view of water.
@Hostafan1, your little grandson is just gorgeous, I bet you can't wait till you see him and your daughter again.
You put me to shame @Dovefromabove, we're having lasagne tonight, straight from the freezer courtesy of Sainsburys.
Sounds like terrible weather @Punkdoc, your poor garden.

Ā I'm curled up in my chair feeling rather tired now. I walked to the local hospital this morning for my spine and hip X rays. Thought I'd have a long wait as the department was quite busy but got called sooner than anticipated and I then had to walk up two flights of stairs to another X ray station. It looked like they'd re-opened an old room to cope with the demand perhaps. Good job I was able to cope with stairs I thought. Caught the bus back as I didn't feel like walking uphill all the way home.

My son rang last evening, unfortunately his lovely big dog is poorly. It seems that the dog had probably been running over a golf course or somewhere they'd sprayed a strong weedkiller as he developed blisters all over his feet, had then licked them and got blisters in his mouth. Poor thing, he's now on antibiotics just in case and has to wear socks on his feet which he's highly indignant about. Fingers crossed he's going to be okay.

That’s awful Lizzie. I hope he can get over it. Ā I hate people using weed killer like that.Ā
