Perle d’Or has been on and off my list, being a designated ‘Earthkind’ rose and thus road tested for disease and heat resistance. Probably not so relevant to the UK, but here’s the link if anyone interested:
Jessica, LEH definitely suitable for a pot, it’s fairly compact and takes pruning and shaping well. LoS not so much, cut it back and it just sends up long canes again in protest!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Oh blimey did I get it the wrong way round @Nollie, I've recently bought LoS for a pot, the canes are certainly vigorous for a young 'un and there are 2 basals too.
You have Lark Ascending too @Victoria Sponge , lovely to see it. I cleared a section of shrubbery to give it a home, my first proper flower today Other firsts on new roses today; Scarborough Fair, Claire Marshall, Malvern Hills and Grafin Diana.
First decent blooms on roses new to me; Dioressence, LoS, Timeless Purple and Chartreuse de Parme. The aphid situation has improved immeasurably here but I had a huge hatching of these critters so I placed a couple on every potted rose. They are scarily efficient at clearing aphids, I watched for ages, fascinating. Unfortunately I think these are the invasive asian Harlequin ladybird.
I haven't heard of those Earthkind principles before, interesting and makes sense.
Oh cool, @Tack I think a few of us have The Lark Ascending. Be fun to see how they all get on. Mine is a year 2 and is already filling its 5' space, very heathy and obliging.
Wow! I go away for 4 days and have 138 posts to read. I did come back to more blooms though.
My peonies are still in bloom:
Duchesse de Nemours
Princess Alexandra of Kent
Lady Emma Hamilton
She looks amazing against salvia caradonna
Gruss an Aachen (with friend)
Belle de jour, looking very pink!
Mme Alfred Carriere
Clementina Carbonieri
The first photo is after 4 days in the pot. I'm surprised all the blooms look so droopy. Is this norm or something I should keep an eye on? 2nd two photos are the day I planted it. Pot is 38cm deep and 34l.
Rose Du Roi
Boule de Neige
Roald Dahl
And a small post of young Lycidas, Mme Alfred Carriere, Karl Lagerfeld, duchesse de Nemours, Nepeta walker's low and some random geraniums
Upside down now, not just on its side! One issue with Royal Jubilee that I had last year two is this - balling/browning of the inner petals. Doesn't happen to all of them just the odd couple in a flush.
My Astrantia Roma is looking good.
Do Astrantia change colour? I'm sure this one was pale pink last year. It's making me doubt whether I was right to say that SGC had sent me the wrong one. I noticed that the white Astrantia that was supposed to be Milano has now started turning pink. So potentially maybe it could continue to change and end up red!
Haven't posted for ages but love looking at all the wonderful roses. Here are a few from my garden. Eustacia Vye planted earlier this year so pleased to see so many flowers Munstead Wood
Gertrude Jekyll sorry forgot to crop before posting.
Lady of Shallot
Mortimer Sackler it's been so beautiful this year.
Oh wow, @andrewnewton, I think you've just answered what was going to be my next question on here - whether anyone could identify my unknown pink rose bush with its furry buds. Now I realize it's a moss rose. Next thing is to find out which one!
Yours is a lovely colour - what are the buds like?

This is mine, with light but distinctly red moss.
Might be a couple of days until more buds appear. I'll see if I can get some more photos then
