Did some gardening this afternoon, weeding and actually got round to feeding some of the roses!
The Ancient Mariner
Lady of Shalott
LOS very nice buds
I can’t take photos of individual plants in this border anymore! 😅 Helenium Short n Sassy, Nepeta Walkers Low, Agryanthemum, aster Monch tall in the background
Big leaves on Brunnera Sea Heart
These are going to look great in a few weeks, from cuttings- autumn joy sedum or hylotelephium?
Promise of flower and fruit on my apple tree next year!
Edhelka’s Paul T/N gets my vote too, love the quilled petals.
Searching for a source for a particular rose, I came across a Mini Eden/Pierre de Ronsard which can be grown as a shrub or a shorter climber, which might be more suited to a small garden/balcony @celcius_kkw if you like it’s big brother. Less cupped so less prone to balling than the latter, I suspect. Looks quite pretty, not sure of UK availability tho.
@Tack, yes your RdeR does look chlorotic doesn’t it? I occasionally bung half a teaspoon of iron powder in the watering can to counteract the effects of my hard water, so maybe that’s keeping the foliage green. Liquid feed varies according to what I can get hold of, but the one it’s had for the last couple of months was a citrus feed! New leaves often start like this with the veins faintly showing but they seem to lose that as they mature:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Sorry pic the wrong way round! Arundel Castle have a lovely long hedge of Rose Harlow Carr, showing it off much better than its eponymous garden .Pic shows a lovely bloom at the end of the hedge this morning (before the rain came!) The rose garden here is likely a stunning garden too, but sadly my visit was timed between flushes so only a few blooms amongst lots of buds.

Well my August lull is somewhat delayed due to the cooler weather, but the reds are nevertheless looking rather tattered and tired 💤
