@Athelas @newbie77 ..more gorgeous photos, so lovely to see today... I'm so happy you got Aquarell as I didn't keep mine due to black spot issues... so I shall enjoy yours. It's a sumptuous rose at its best..
.. oh and these later ones too..
@owd potter No, when I saw your rose had black spot I knew it wasn't the one I had been thinking, and I thought was a white rose Mme Alfred Carriere... I'm not surprised it's turned out reddish... we shall look forward to more pictures.. Your yellow is very nice..
@purplerallim lovely too.. and I was also just going to ask about the bottom picture..
@newbie77 Young Lycidas justly deserves the accolade of rose of the day!
@owd potter, no, not what I though it was going to be, I thought Mme. AC too!
I’m still waiting on half a dozen newbies to open, it’s a race between Mme. Antoine Mari and Guy Savoy. Meanwhile,
More Deep Secret, lots of buds on this one:
Munstead Wood. This first flush has not been as good as last year’s, steady but not as spectacular. I experimented with giving it inorganic instead of organic feed last year, as I suspected that area was devoid of soil life. Difficult to know if it’s just coincidence, weather or the feed.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Everything right on the edge of bloom for me, I have a few Rhapsody blooms out and Eyes for you is opening, the rest are teasing with huge fat buds. I counted and have 45 roses of varying types! (That includes miniatures...)
Albertine covered in buds
Rhapsody in blue, covered in buds as usual and smelling gorgeous.
Lady of Shallott sprouting away nicely, first few buds visible.
Sweet Syrie, covered in big fat buds.
The left border, sprouting away nicely - Lots of roses on the left side and a few dotted in the rest of the borders. All covered in fat buds!
My right border and mid rose bed, sprouting like mad!
Thank you to whoever recommended alliums, I'm a convert! I Love them, so do the bees I'm certainly ordering more next year! (Yes, I still have some tulips out! These are Shirley Doubles)
I always call it angel wings as I don't even know HOW to pronounce its official one @Marlorena@JessicaS 😆 its Schizanthus angel wings ( or poor man's orchid ) 🙂 It comes in mixed colours of white through pink to purple. I love it, but it does tend to grow tall and wispy, so needs to be in the middle of a border. 🙂

Thanks @Marlorena, should I interpret this to indicate that white roses are less susceptible to BS, or conversely that reds & pinks are more so? or am I reading too much into your comment? I like this yellow flori, it is very healthy and has been a good bloomer for the 3 years that I have known it. Julia Child was on my wish list for a yellow rose for my new bed, which you also suggested, until I decided that I need to move this at end of year and which will now have JC spot instead
Please tell me that you agree this looks like a rose seedling (3 more tiny ones in the pot), this is so exciting because I popped open a hip 6 weeks ago and planted the seeds in an idle moment, the hip had ended up lying on my potting bench over winter. What do I do with it now? It is in vermiculite and MPC, how long is it ok in this pot? How much sun? Please.
New to me and first bloom on England's Rose, turns out I was a sucker for this colour and ordered quite a few in the off season..
Can someone please tell me what this problem might be. It's affecting quite a few leaves, on my 'Charles de Mills' in particular. It doesn't seem to have had too much of an impact on the plant's health thus far, but it is very unsightly.

I wouldn't buy roses from Parkers, only rose specialists where possible.
