@Eustace, yes it does have irregular black edges, almost like a sooty or burnt black. I thought it was some sort of damage to be honest but on closer inspection does seem to be patches of colour.
Sweet Honey looks glorious @pitter-patter. Must look fab teamed with the burgundy Clematis I can see peeking into the picture. Glad you are happy with the Lilac Bouquets. You do have a lovely, interesting garden.
Thank you, @Fire and @Victoria Sponge. It’s not without its challenges and frustrations. I’m fighting with bindweed, slugs and my own propensity towards cramming plants too close together.
Is anyone else struggling with huge healthy daffodil leaves still?
The clematis is called Burning Love, it’s in its first year, but doing quite well.
I really must get out and do some deadheading, but there aren’t enough hours in the day at the moment! I’ve been busy writing the leaving song for this year’s Year 6s. Busy time of year.
I admire your Paul T every time but you have a gorgeous collection @edhelka
That DA pot with only one The Country Parson is a surprise, thank you for finding out and passing that on Marlorena. The thorns may be an issue, will have to ponder on that.

@edhelka Ah! Sorry I misunderstood you.. I must say I wasn’t really paying attention to Silas Marner’s growth habit.. it was also quite strange how they didn’t have many of them in the borders, I only saw one in a large pot..
interestingly all of their roses were completely unblemished - not a single aphid in sight and no trace of blackspots or mildew either..
@Mr. Vine Eye you make them sound so unfussy! I wonder if that’s partly down to them being in the ground. I find myself feeding my potted ones weekly now in summer.. it’s a task that I do enjoy but occasionally when I’m in a rush I wish I they could just look after themselves a bit more..
@Marlorena Thanks for clarifying that, I think my balcony is genuinely out of space now.. with my Roseraie de l’Hay likely to grow quite large and my latest addition of Princess Anne I simply can’t squeeze in anymore, short of giving up my seat 😝
@Victoria Sponge I too am very fond of yellow roses.. perhaps much more than the pinks - but somehow I have ended up with more pinks than yellows.
@Tack Thank you. I love it too, a really good rose so far. Regarding my collection, I am somewhere around 65... but I think I need to downsize, I keep some roses for too long. @cooldoc I bought it from Agel Rosen, I didn't know it is available in the UK, but it looks like it is, or at least was It was recommended to me by a Czech rosarian, who lives in a colder part of the country, still a very different climate from mine, but it got my attention. The colour is somewhere between cold pink and lilac. @celcius_kkw Thank you. I know, mass planting can hide many problems and make many roses look better.
Forgot to post this one - 'Our Beth' - last year, it was very mildewy and I wanted to get rid of it, but was too lazy and kept it. This year, it's much better. A Peter Beales (bred by Amanda Beales), Louise Odier x English Miss. Evening view from the kitchen:
