@Tack that Prince looks gorgeous! I do love your potted selection, they look so smart. @celcius_kkw Eden is in the ground, only just got it recently but its covered in buds so I will take pics when it flowers. It should only get to about 2metres ish high: More soggy garden pics; Natalija blooming nicely again Colonel mustard First great western - lovely scent too The wrong rose I had from harkness - replacement 95th celebration arranged with no issues, these things happen! They think this one might be 'born free'. Its pretty but not where Id put it thinking it was 95th as its too short, very patio sizedso I shall move and pot it instead. Eyes for you. Lovely smell. Brother Cadfael, looking the best its ever looked! Lovely scent. Quick pics incase it gets warm after the rain and balls. Angel eyes Middle rose bed bursting out again. Fragrant delight. Lovely rose this, prolific and sweetly scented and coes well in rain. Lady of shallott and birthday boy in the top left bed My peachy pinky purple bed blooming away. I want some more peachy shades in there when the apricot foxgloves are out of flower, Ive got 'peach' for the gap in the middle (where short born free ended up) or maybe lady emma, to be decided! Waltz time back left has gone a bit mad with long canes so will be pruned back!
What a great garden @Fire! Really nice touch with adding the plant namesto the video, and I’m still very much liking your metal decorative screens!
A question for everyone — would you be able to recommend a rose for the front of my house, to go in the corner between the wooden shed and the window in the first photo below?
I’m thinking of removing the salvia Amistad that is currently there as it flops around terribly. I suppose it could be a climbing rose for which we would install a narrow vertical trellis on the wall. I’m thinking it should only go up as high as the top of the window (7 to 8 feet); it is an awkward spot to be messing about with ladders when pruning. Or is there a tall upright shrub rose that can fit instead? The border is south facing although the corner does is somewhat shadier being tucked away beside the kitchen window.
Some preferences: red colour, repeat flowering, abundant flowers and blackspot-resistant; fragrance a bonus but not a must (I would go for disease resistance over fragrance).
Thanks @Fire! That's a Flower Carpet white rose. The salvia keeps leaning on it, so I was thinking of taking out the salvia and putting in a new rose, a red one to contrast with the Flower Carpet white rose.
Any thoughts on a taller/narrower red rose to go behind the Flower Carpet white rose, or a short climber perhaps?
