That Maigold is an interesting colour @iaincd, I wish I had more space for big roses.
Thanks for posting those DA photos @celcius_kkw, TCP looks fab doesn't it, I'm fond of a yellow rose, and CPM looks wonderful too, mine is only a whippersnapper but I hope it looks like that when it grows up.
Editing to say, interesting everyone's thoughts on Blush Noisette scent. I'm going to cut a sprig and bring it into the house where it has no competition and see if I get a different impression.
@celcius_kkw Adrian, I asked Carl Bennett about that Country Parson pot and I've been told it's just the one rose, so I have to take back the claim it was more than one, however we have seen them plant 3 to a pot before but it's such a thorny rose, 1 should be quite enough for anybody.. he also said it takes time to fill out like that... so perhaps mine will be like that one next year... I'm not sure I want it in the ground at this stage.. do you think you might get it?
Rose of the Day, the beautiful Gallica officinalis. I love this bright, happy rose.
My other Gallica, Tuscany. Hoping this might recover to become a RoTD after a recent pummelling from the weather.
Trumpeter
I emailed Lens the other day about sending bare roots to UK and they advised a decision would be made by September. Just for info for anyone with a beady eye on any of their roses not available here.
@Victoria Sponge I like the vermillion red of your 'Trumpeter' rose. Do the blooms have a black tinge on the outer petals/edge? I have one like that, a lost-label one.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth

My rose of the day has to be Sweet Honey. Healthy, floriferous and rain resistant.
Lilac Bouquet. Very impressed with this rose so far. I don’t regret buying two to cover the arch.
