Good to 'see' you @AuntyRach, shame about your Dad.

Glad you had a good day @Busy-Lizzie, I meant to ask you how the building work was progressing.

Morning all. The rain has stopped here. The river is still rising 👏👏 and I’m not sure what we are doing. Hubby is needed at the fire shed to let the bloke in who is installing a security system and now a friend’s daughter has just lost her job (sacked, in our parlance) because of bad performance and she needs Hubby to write a letter for her. Sigh. 🤭

Not sure if we are going to town for our usual jaunt or not.

The plants are showing their appreciation for the rain.
    Zephyranthes

    Rosa La Jago

The Zephyranthes were some bulbs I took from my daughter’s garden after she died. Just a plant to remember her by and it works because every time I see them flowering, I think of her. 😁

That rose was given to me by my son for a birthday present a few years ago.  It struggles a bit in the corner where I planted it, but again, it’s showing appreciation of the rain. Maybe I should make more of an effort to water it on a regular basis, but that’s only a few metres from where the snake appeared recently. 😳 I’m not keen to stand there with a hose.

DD, regarding your photo of the little seedling in your garden, I agree that it looks like the Michelmas Daisy that I’ve got. I don’t know any cultivar name because it was given to me.

  • Morning all,

Absolutely beautiful flowers and so much more so because of the memories. I do hope my little clumps turn out to be those Michaelmas Daisy, I did have some before but it's all a blur where they ended up.

Beautiful day here too, first lot of Hot Cross Bun mix on the go, a very slow process I have found, but at least I can leave it to do it's thing and get on in the garden. I have some sweetpeas that need a home finding.  More than I expected survived, hence the surplus, they might need to go in a pot, no more sunny spots left in the garden.

I bought some Primula bulleyana and Primrose denticulata about 3 weeks ago from Prommesse de Fleurs, I am getting a bit twitchy as there is absolutely no sign of life yet. The last few days have been nice and warm, they have been in the GH at night, so no problem with frosts, they're wet but not soggy....I do hope they appear, there are 6 of them. Fingers crossed.

The hostas I got last week on the other hand (in their nice new pots) are definitely on the move. The highs and lows of gardening.  :)

Morning people, Pat E, don' tell us your flowers smell lovely, when we can't smell then haha.  My oldest daughter gave me a very nice metal jug, with flowers the Friday before Mothering Sunday, they are still doing very well, even the roses, I have had to remove just one carnation, but oddly enough, the roses, and carnations which were buds, are still buds they haven't opened up at all. No lockdown rule breaking she is a Manager in Sainsbury, I popped in for shopping, that's when I saw her, suitably masked naturally!!

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Ive slept late 🥱 and now there are some very noisy military aircraft rumbling overhead ... I read that there were going to be some manoeuvres going on at various East Anglian bases so I suppose that’s part of it.
Sorry about your Dads foot @AuntyRach ... but gotta love a stylish cyber-goth boot ... just checked ... was it really almost 4 years ago that I had mine 😲
Lovely flowers @Pat E thanks for sharing 😊
