Can't help @Dovefromabove I am afraid. My last problem with the washing machine was caused by an escaped underwire from a bra! Isn't there a product called Calgon, or is that for another washing machine problem?

Enjoying curried sweet potato and red lentil soup for lunch, very comforting on this horrible wet day. Looking like it might brighten up a bit soon. Fingers crossed.

@sam bevington I feel your pain - even after a year, it brings back those feelings. A boy's best friend is his mother! (And he did look like William Holden!!)
I've been out in the garden for a lot of today. I've planted up 6 Dahlias 3 Bishop of York and 3 Bishop of Canterbury. I've also planted up 4 Potato Bags with Vivaldi and cut back 2 of my roses. I had already pruned them but I think they needed a further trim. Have a bit of a funny head, hope I'm not getting a migraine.
I couldn't find the thread about what to watch even on a search. The Repair Shop seems to have started a new series this afternoon @Hostafan1, @Dovefromabove and all others who need to watch the feel good programme.
I must learn not to say what I intend to do. The rain has been on & off all day so no Allotments. We did manage to sit outside for a coffee after lunch, but other than feeding the birds and moving a few pots, and deadheading some tete a tete daffodils, not a lot.
I spent 2 hours this afternoon planting a wisteria. Why so long you ask?
Chooks! It was in a 60cm pot so that's quite a lot of hole to dig out especially when you first have to clear meadow grass, couch grass, nettles and other weeds from a 1m square surface. The excavated soil then needing bunging in a wheelbarrow so I could sift thru each clod for naughty weed roots and every spadeful was also inspected by hens as it was dug, lifted, dumped, sifted. Three goes to get the level right after improving and loosening the soil below and then every spadeful re-inspected as it went back in around the roots. Loads of watering, topped off with cardboard and then a layer of chipped bark.
Entertaining, working with chooks, but time-consuming and goodness they can chat. If my plan works, this white wisteria will spread all along the east and south sides of the potager fence and it should attract pollinators and look fab for months every year.

Extremely windy and cold here. Sunny spells.
Have a good day, everyone.
