2nd coffee here for me.  Need two before I get going altho I have already managed to find a chap to come and sort out my washing machine tomorrow.  Now to find a dentist which is proving very tricky.

It's been wet and windy overnight and is still cloudy and a bit blowy but not as cold as it has been so I'll be out to play later.  Need to make a big red salad first and a cole slaw and other pottering about the kitchen and house first.

Good luck with that floor @Dovefromabove and the PO and bank @D0rdogne_Damsel.  Hope the building work goes well @Busy-Lizzie.  Frustrating @Pat E.  Is bro fit to do his job tomorrow @WonkyWomble?   Sounds a bit early.

Hugs to all who need them.

Currently Wonky’s brother is only doing half days and it’s very light work compared to what he usually  does.  He went out for a drive yesterday and said he’ll be fine by tomorrow 🤞 he doesn’t get any sick pay (self employed) and Wonky has customers to keep happy. Times are tough and it’s a case of needs must when the devil drives. 🙄

Hurrumph! Having started on damp wiping the floor, we discover a flood in the cupboard under the kitchen sink, emanating from the washing machine ... 'Beware the Ides of March' indeed  :#

Oh that's a b****r @Dovefromabove, best laid plans and all that. Zoomed with daughter and son yesterday, son not 100% and never will be after the Covid, but he wants to increase his hours for work and after Easter go into the office a couple of times a week as he is getting bored at home all day. I feel very protective of him but I know that he must do what he feels he he can do and i must support him, especially as he is earning most of the money at the moment.
Grey and chilly with showers today so indoor pursuits for me while OH is putting manure on the borders.
    Have a good day all.

@floralies I do hope that your son continues to make progress and feel positive. They've had a very rough time.

MY OH has diagnosed the problem ... it's the outlet/drain pipework blocked again ... it did it a few years ago necessitating our Lovely Builder (who was in the vicinity) rescuing us, replacing part of the pipework and doing a bit of remedial stuff ... I know the trouble is said to stem from fabric conditioner (which we don't use) and not using really hot water any more, so I run the machine on a hot wash with tea towels etc from time to time, but obviously not often enough.   OH is on his hands and knees with a whirlygig drain cleaning brush thingummy and disconnecting pipes etc ... when it's all finished I'll give the machine a hot wash with soda crystals ... any other tips gratefully received.

Check pockets before washing trousers!   We have a washing machine engineer coming tomorrow @Dovefromabove.  I found a broken golf tee in the filter but there's something else blocking the pump and I can't get to that.

Maybe try ecoegg? Might put less gunk down the drain.

@raisingirl :) We already only use Ecover washing liquid together with Calgon liquid in every wash, as the water here is very hard indeed.  Someone I know had tried the Ecoegg but she thought the hard water here prevented it from working as well as it might.

@Obelixx it's not the drain/pump bit in the machine ... it's the pipework  that goes through the wall.  And yes, all pockets are thoroughly checked ... it's amazing what you can find in pockets.  ;)

OH tells me that progress is being made.   :)
