Only connect was tough,  but we got some & more on the connecting walls than the contestants.

It’s taken me quite a while to discover my absolute favourite single malt @punkdoc ... for years I drank Laphroaig with Pa ... but when I discovered Bowmore it was like coming home. I’ve not tried the Darkest ... one day ... I live in hope 🥃

@Allotment Boy we did quite well on the walls, but the missing vowels were tough 🤯

Morning everyone. Overcast morning here with a promise of rain later, so not doing much. (My usual thing lately). Missing having cat company, but I’ve poppy seedlings to plant out somewhere. Hubby was given some for me a couple of days ago. Might settle for a tub to start with and see how they go.

Poppies in plus a few unnamed plants - time will tell. 🙄

The poppies are reputed to be opium poppies.hmmm!   We’ll see.

We’ve been out the back cutting more wood. I’ve a feeling that there might be a bit of rain moving closer. Clouds grey and low. 👏

When we got back to the house, we were both hungry, so left-over pickled pork sandwiches with my home-made pickled green tomatoes. And of course, a nice hot cuppa. 😜. Time to flop now.

Photo of reflections in one of our dams.

Still a bit low, but if we get more rain it might fill up.

  • Planting with animal helpers is a joy, not. I often feel like Monty when pottering about with my Cocker Spaniels and Labradors in tow. However the afternoon planting went t*** up....18 Aqualegias bare root goodies gratefully received from Hayloft; bagged up in threes labelled A to F. Placed the half opened bags in the dogs' paddling pool to soak for an hour. Went inside for a cuppa and opened a new pack of plant markers with a lovely sharp pencil to label up. Half way through the task went indoors for a Jimmy Riddle - naughty puppy Tula2 had scattered the remaining markers everywhere, the pencil was  gone ..Argg!! Continued my planting ...retrieved bag D ...empty!! Tula2 strikes again, where the 3 Barlows are is a mystery maybe solved on poop patrol!! Dogs - who'd have 'em ? 🐕🐶🐕
  • Good morning :)

    Lovely photo @PPat E"

Oh dear @sam bevington how very frustrating. I bet they looked up at you so innocently too.

After all the hard labour of prepping a flowerbed yesterday I get to do the pretty bit and plant it up today. :)  Actually it is a downsizing of a flowerbed and I am making it more of a shrubbery than a flowerbed and 3/4s of it will be grassed over for ease of management. I am moving lots of stuff around but I do have new hostas arriving tomorrow to finish it off with. :)

I wish I had kept more of the mulch from the tree lopping now too, it looks so good where I have put it and now I have realised it would have worked well in other places too.

Off to school now, catch you all later. :)
