    Morning all.

Well done Charlie! He's growing up fast @D0rdogne_Damsel. You are so lucky to be offered the jab next week, you are younger than me, is it because of your work? Earliest I'll get it is mid April and I expect all the places will be booked.
I'm proud of my sons too. Son 2, engineer, is a managing director of a big firm and has just been in a French paper twice, including photos, he's doing really well.

Cold and frosty again, but sun is shining.

Good morning to you all.  Promises to be a sunny day here although it is cold.  My seeds in the conservatory are mostly up but my peppers are taking their time.  Some have surfaced others hopefully to come.  I sowed them 3 weeks ago!  Conservatory unheated and not all days are sunny like today!

@D0rdogne_Damsel  I should think you are proud of your son Charlie because I found that there is too much pressure on school children here in France especially in secondary education and the 12-15 age group is very vulnerable.  If you are too good, you are a "buffon" - and there are other words, some not found in the dictionary if you are not so good.  I hope the good report encourages him to keep it up.

Good luck to all of you for your future interviews, big days, vaccinations and finger inspections.

Morning all,  wet & windy here,  waiting for latest SM shop delivery.  Thanks for all the kind comments,  I  think I have got off fairly lightly with the finger.  The tip is a sort of grey blue,  it actually just looks a bit dirty.  One edge of the fingernail has lifted , that is why it bled. Keeping it bandaged.

  • Good news ( well relatively!) on the fingernail @Allotment Boy. By the way , was thinking the other day to check whether your ferment "recipe" was successful?

Best of luck for everyone going for job interviews / hospital check ups hearing related and otherwise and well done to all those parents and kids whose kids have managed to keep up with their studies.

Hello all, just back from SM shop, nice and quiet again today. The sun is out here today for the first time in ages but still cold.
So good to see Charlie is doing well at school @D0rdogne_Damsel I expect he is more settled now. I was also surprised to see that you have been offered the jab, I am also in a higher age group and won't be able to get one until at least mid April!
I hope it is good news for your son @Dovefromabove we all need good news!
Have a good day everyone whatever you are up too.

    Thanks @floralies 🤗
it’s a horrible condition that has been giving him trouble on and off all his adult life ... it’s taken years to get a diagnosis and now it’s urgent as he already has a lot of hearing loss in that ear and they don’t know how much it will improve, if at all. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cholesteatoma/

  • Thank you all for the kind words about Charlie. I just hope he remains a 'good boy' throughout his teens, fingers crossed, but I suppose it's only natural for him to become a sulky teenager at some point.

Regarding the jab, (for French residents) all I did was phone the doctor to ask what I had to do or not do to get it, he simply asked me my age and said, ok, fine, if the delivery comes Monday as expected you can have it then. Apparently, and I am not sure how true this is everywhere, a lot of French don't want it so there is spare vaccine up for grabs.

Fingers crossed for good news for your son too @Dovefromabove.

I have to say @D0rdogne_Damsel my OH said to me why don't you ring and find out, especially if the jabs are going begging and the French don't want them!
@Dovefromabove I can see why your son's condition has taken to diagnose, it's not one I have heard of.

Afternoon. It’s raining and grey here, with stormy winds forecast tonight. Anyone in U.K. had their Census letter yet? I don’t think I’ve heard anything about it on the news. Some of my work colleagues have never done one as they were students last time. It must be a sad time for those who have another reminder that they have lost a partner/spouse.

    Good luck @sam bevington,
    Nice one Charlie,
    get the paracetamol in @chicky,
    keep cool @dovefromabove,

    and

    take care everyone else!
