I’m aching too @Yviestevie ... it feels good doesn’t it? 😀 OH cut the back ‘lawn’ and did the edges while I potted on lots of overwintered bits and bobs, cut back ferns and suchlike. Then OH tidied up my mess while I collapsed before picking broccoli and making pasta and psb with anchovies, capers and Parmesan for supper. Now I’m sitting on the sofa with my knitting watching a buzzard wheeling high in the sky ... what alovely day ... and another planned for tomorrow 😎

Lots of pruning for me - buddleias and cornus shrubs all cut back and the stems dunked in buckets of water for now till I can get some netting round a cuttings bed. A fair bit of hoeing in the gravel at the front to prepare for the citrus shrubs coming out after next week's cold snap and plenty of messing in the "cave". Feeling weary but pleased and not aching.
Another day of being mucky and organising things tomorrow then I have to clean up for SM run on Thursday and a garden club committee meeting to be held sort of outdoors in a big barn in the pm. They're hoping to organise a plant fair on the 17th and have permission from the powers that be plus 40 growers lined up and keen but I suspect it'll be cancelled given recent covid rates.
Love PSB or broccoli with anchovies and co @Dovefromabove and we have lots of PSB but Possum thinks she doesn't like anchovies so I'll have to be sneaky.
You lucky lot! Sitting at my computer after starting new job on Monday looking enviously at the garden bursting into life! Did get out for half an hour for lunch to water all my perennials in pots, those ready for our new project ... a 15m x 20m area that was previously occupied by the chickens and ducks and lots of box hedges @Hostafan1😄😄🐕🦺 dog in there just to irk! When cleared, will ask you lot for advice on planting plan, want huge sweeping beds aka Busy Lizzy style 😉
We had a surprise at dinnertime! Looked out of the dining room window and idly thought that's a big bird with long legs on top of the neighbouring house - and suddenly realised I was looking at a crane! Not a sight you often see in Bath! Abandoned dinner halfway through and tore out with our cameras and got a couple of hopeful shots (with me standing on a footstall because I couldn't see over the fence)! Gosh, very excited.
More plumbing work for me this week. The outside tap is on a first floor balcony, it used to feed troughs there and a drip system for hanging baskets round the house. Now I drop a house from it to ground level to connect a wall mounted hose reel for general garden duties and mainly have it feed the greenhouse watering system.
Turned it on today for the first time this year and of course bits began to fail. The hose reel connection blew off but oddly there wasn't much flow coming out. So I swapped around a few connectors to try and get a secure fit to the hose reel - nothing doing, so I need to dig out my spare hose reel.
Back up to the balcony to check the down hose and am only getting a trickle from the tap. Took off the anti-backflow valve, no change. There is a stopcock just behind the tap inside the house too so either it or the tap needs fettling. I have a couple of spare outside taps lying around so will try one of them tomorrow. I hate plumbing.
Thanks for that link @Dovefromabove, I've just registered on the site (what a palavver!!!) and logged the the sighting. I'm so tired, I was trying to text myself and attach the crane photo from my phone to send to my laptop, before OH gently pointed out that I needed to email the pic not text it! ...... Think I must go to bed as well.
