Good morning Forkers.  Sunny here again but still chilly with the wind from the NE now.  I'm off to weed in the sunshine, protected by my newly repaired fleece gardening jacket.

Need to clean the chooks water dispenser - messy girls - and water all the plants in the polytunnel and maybe dig up the lemongrass which has not enjoyed this long, cold winter.  This time last year I was gardening in pedal pushers and a t-shirt!

Hope both chicklets are OK today @chicky.  Lots of the kids at the lycée wher I help with English cookery do weekly boarding @D0rdogne_Damsel.   Quite a normal thing here and in Belgium as not all schools offer the same courses and some have specialisations and the rural villages and towns don't all have secondary schools.

    Hi all

Sunny here too, need to get out there.
Hope the "loss" of chicklet starts to ease @chicky
What did people think of the new LoD?
How can you lie there and think of England

  • That's what Charlie is planning/hoping for @Obelixx. There's a really good Lycée in Limoges that does a special mathematics course he wants to do. They only have 36 places so he's working really hard towards it. It won't be this year, but next, however he realises now is when the effort is needed. He was so pleased last week with the results of a maths evaluation, he was the only one in the entire class that got 100%. All good motivation for him.

Beautiful weather here, warm work spreading that manure around, it's ever so heavy. Breaking up nicely when I dig it in though.

Coffee break over, back to it. 😁

@Dovefromabove a mix of stuff really and all at different stages. I'm mostly out of my depth with flowers. I might make another thread about it!
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

We've never watched LoD  :o  but having gathered that we might have missed something worthwhile we've started recording it.  Can someone give us a quick precis of what we need to know in order to get the gist of who's who and what's what?  Without spoilers of course ...

this is series 6, you've missed a LOT.
My son in law hadn't watched it and binged all 4 series before watching series 5. He loved it. I've not heard of anyone who hasn't loved it.

Yes, we gather that 😂 That's why it's got to be a precis of the basics ... we don't find time to watch all that we record, let alone binge watch 5 series ... 😲

IMHO it's the best series to be on TV in decades.
Way too many twists and turns and downright shocks to precis.
There will be too many " back references " which you just won't " get " if you haven't seen previous stuff.

OH and I didn't watch it from the beginning but started watching a later series and have recorded and watched some of an earlier series to catch up @Dovefromabove.  It's basically about police corruption both within the force and within the police that police the police.   Not uplifting and lots of conspiracy and mistrust.

Some good actors and acting but it is all quite convoluted and not, in our opinion, unmissable.  We're recording the news series and may or may not get around to watching it depending on how tired we are and what time we finish dinner.
