@Obelixx does that mean then they can then go to Belgium and get their Covid jabs and then come back here? I thought you had to reside in the country where you get your jab, otherwise why aren't we all doing it? Perhaps I'm just being thick
I think you have to be resident to get the invitation for the jab @floralies. I know that some of my old gardening group have received their invitations this past week but others are still waiting.
Been cleaning here, largely because I needed to clear the pantry floor ready for inspecting the washing machine which appears to be bunged up. Always puddles when doing this and I did find a broken golf tee in the filter bit that we ordinary mortals can get to. Pump not accessible so will have to call for a man-that-can tomorrow.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Grim day here. It's just got wetter and wetter. However, managed a quick stint digging out some more bits of root from THAT bush triumvirate. Worked in some compost from the dalek in an attempt to create some more room at the top. The back border is now looking decidedly bare but with a decent growing medium just waiting........for cats to deposit in, probably
Going to replace the fence panels before planting anything though. Probably leave that a couple of weeks until we get a decent weekend weather forecast. I don't mind doing it in the wind, rain and cold but I'll need an Under Gardener to help get a couple of the tricky panels in. Don't think any of my potential UGs share my tolerance of the elements
Replaced the strawberry plant that had been completely munched in the side border to bring the number back up to 24 (having 23 in there was troubling me no end!). I've got a few sawn-off 2L pop bottles covering the smallest of the strawbs now, in an attempt to fend off the secret snacker. Moved two rhubarb plants into that border as well. That frees up another tub for potatoes.
Nipped to the tip and emptied the car of all the stuff that has been building up for weeks - always satisfying distributing all of it in the various recycling receptacles and getting back into an empty car
Couple of football matches on TV now and a takeaway tea
I had a bit more of a sort out in the garage this morning to try to clear more space for the builders, the newly cleaned out garden shed is filling up.
It was lovely to see my friend and lunch was delicious, paté, then duck, kale, roast potatoes, cheese, box of chocolates with coffee. We had a really good natter and I just made it home before the curfew.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good evening all. I hope all Mums have had a good day. For those who find today difficult, like me, I hope you have done ok.
More powerwashing today - nearly finished the front (it’s quite a big area) so once it’s all done and a few dry days are forecast, some weed killer can go on. Any recommendations for a good weed treatment for a north facing block paving driveway??
The next job will be painting my porch area and the only wooden window frame in the house - yes in the most awkward spot to reach as above the porch.
You all seem to have had a good day one way or another. 🙂
I set out this morning to finish the mulching in my 'new' shrub bed ( now defunct flowerbed) and got sidetracked by tidying up the area where the trees were felled, ended up taking all day. Ivy everywhere and tons of dead leaves and broken branches ensnared in the conifers below. Sneaky stinging nettles too. 😨 The conifers have had a bit of a harsh haircut too, poor things were fighting for their lives, hopefully the clear out, new access to light and air will do the trick. They've got two chances, but couldn't be left as they were. 🤲
So, tomorrow I'll try to do the mulching (not munching) of my 'new' shrub bed. 🙄
Have a good evening all. 🙂

There is a website https://diplomatie.belgium.be/fr/Services/voyager_a_letranger/conseils_par_destination/france which explains the current rules and restrictions for travelling into Belgium.

Have a good evening folks.
Lunch sounds good @Busy-Lizzie. Will you have enough garage left to park a car out of the sun and rain?
