Thanks @Dovefromabove about the watercress and @tuikowhai34, I have fish in my pond so not sure how much of the Watercress I would see! I think it would be better in a pot with plenty of water.
Hello - hope everyone is OK. Sounds like you're all pootling along alright now that spring is thinking of springing. Not much gardening here this weekend - the ground has been frozen all day today and yesterday - minus 6 on Friday night and about the same last night. I have started a few seeds off in the polytunnel though as it's forecast to get a bit milder (and wilder) this week. And finally got my chillis started on the windowsill and the first pot of basil, too. We had a new fridge delivered on Friday so most of yesterday was taken up with washing and cleaning stuff that had to be taken off shelves in order to get it to fit - so a forced spring clean of the utility room got done OH's turn to cook tonight so I'm going to put my feet up and read a book for a while and let my feet thaw out - after a couple of hours in the potting shed they are icy cold.
Have a good week, everyone. And don't let Hosta near the sledgehammer again.

I've had a lovely day. It's Grandmothers' Day in France. Is it in England? I went to Son 2 for lunch, think I said Son 1 earlier. His French wife is expecting their 5th child. Their children are delightful, we played treasure hunts in the garden after lunch. They made a really nice lunch, son made salmon paté to start, then joint effort bread crumbed chicken with a tasty vegetable and rice dish then DIL had made crème brulée and raspberry mousse and chocolate brownies. They gave me 3 dianthus plants.
I was going to plant the last 2 shrubs when I got home but friends telephoned then OH rang so haven't done anything but light the fire and chat.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That sounds a lovely day @Busy-Lizzie 😊 Dont know about Grandmother’s day ... do we have that here? We certainly didn’t when I was a child ... seems a bit of overkill really ... I mean, aren’t all grandmothers mothers already so they already have a ‘day’. 🤔
I’m a step-gran ... don’t s’pose there’s any such thing as a Step-gran’s Day 😂
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Might be a Catholic thing? It's grandma's day in Belgium too. Or maybe it's a recent USA import the Brits haven't adopted or noticed.
Glad you've had a lovely day @Busy-Lizzie whatever the excuse. 5 kids!! Blimey.
Gave up on gardening and took to cleaning instead. OH's idea! It's supposed to be sunny and warmer all day so seemed like a good idea to stay in out of the cold and get it done. Only 4 eggs today so clearly the chooks think it's jolly cold too.

Glad you had a lovely day @Busy-Lizzie OourMothers Day is later this month . Trying to do this on my mobile and with less than one bar signal is terribly frustrating. Haven"t heard back k from the laptop people yet.
Turned out warmer than expected so just littered in the garden and swept the paving Enjoying a pre dinner wine then got Antique Road tolook forward to. Hope everyone's enjoyed their day
We’ve woken to a cold morning here too. I’ve got the air con set to 24. 😁 luckily the solar panels seem to be working well.
Hubby took Pixel into town for her Vet appt and general anaesthetic. I expect she’ll be a bit wobbly when we pick her up late today. (With Shiny clean teeth). She has settled in so well here with us, that I don’t think she’ll want to go home to son’s place.
I had a phone call from our Dr’s receptionist this morning. Hubby’s Dr had been called out to the Hospital, so Hubby’s appt has been changed until tomorrow. More planning needed.
