Think there’s apples in cider 🍎 😉 ... Ma (a committed Methodist) always said it was just like apple juice so there couldn’t be any harm in it 😂 ... I remember she got absolutely rat-a***d on calvados at a family wedding (the bride was from Normandy) as it couldn’t be harmful because it was made from apples. On the journey home she kept demanding that we should stop for ice cream. She was at heading for 80 at the time. 😆

So anyway, it’s a firm belief in our family that cider and calvados are relatively harmless.

She once had some of my son’s Russian potato vodka ... which couldn’t be strong as it was “made from potatoes and they’re harmless” ... she then went into the garden to hang some washing out ... when she hadn’t returned half an hour later Pa sent my son out to look for her ... he found her asleep on the sun lounger ... in the shed with the lawnmower and spades 😂

So now im tucked up in bed, having put the flicks on an hour ...we got up very early today, so night night all ... sleep tight 🛌 😴

  • Good morning all,

Beautiful here this morning. Charlie is off for his 'wild swimming' session again this morning, I watch but am not tempted. More than anything the length of time to get dressed and undressed on a sandy beach without any proper (or warm ) changing facilities/showers for the sake of 5 or 6 minutes of time in the water seems like a lot of hassle.

Then hoping to spend some time in the garden, lawn seed down hopefully, but also have to get some Easter biscuits made, quite a few on order and it will be easier if they are just in a tin ready for decorating. I am also going to make a cheesecake for my manure providing friendly farmer, a small token of my appreciation.

Btw, I found some super bread in Biocoop @Obelixx , the Hot X Buns are looking very good and have become so much easier to make, so thanks for the link last week.

Love the tampers @chicky and also the upholstery ;)

Hope your cooker gets sorted @Hostafan1, these household appliances do have an annoying habit of breaking down on a fairly regular basis.  :/

I hope you are feeling ok this morning too @Dovefromabove

The lovely Liam from British Gas has called to say he'll be here around 10.30.
    Devon.

Hosta, am not sure the words "lovely and British Gas" can be used together, they work Sundays?  Was chatting to some folk at the end of our little block, he was a builder by trade, he also has a garage window opening in to someone elses' garden.  He reckons it was because, when this phase of bungalows was finnished, there was no road, or access road, born out by chappie 4 doors down who has been here since the were new.  Second chappie, said he moved here following a stroke, he "though" it was a retirement complex,. No idea why, because it's a regular road, bungalows this side, houses opposite.  He said it is because they are so small!!  Well, they aren't massive, but in actual square footage, bigger than my last 3 bedroom semi.

, The old man decided to drive to B & Q, I wondered where on earth he had gone, in my car.  It wasn't even 9 0 clock, somehow he thought it was 11.30.  See what messing with the clocks does to you, (whoops, I missed out the L first time round!!)

    That’s good news @Hostafan1 👍

Well done re the booze ... I know you feel better for it 😊 ... we don’t drink very often nowadays ... probably less than once a week ... but occasionally I just fancy ‘something’ and a cider was perfect with the pizza ... however it did mean that I just couldn’t be faffed to correct the iPhone’s predictive text 😂 I was fine carrying on with my knitting 🧶 👍

@D0rdogne_Damsel 😊 Id probably rather join Charlie’s swim and change in the open air than use an indoor pool ... I really feel quite emotional and panicky around indoor pools ... even walking past and smelling the chlorine can do it following an incident with a school group when I was 12 ... OH  is a good swimmer and has tried to help me overcome it but the thought of an indoor pool just triggers a feeling of dread .... even just writing this ... outdoor pools, lidos, river banks and the sea are just fine ... my favourite places for a swim are East Runton beach in Norfolk, Sizewell in Suffolk and Porthmeor in Cornwall 🏊‍♀️ ... but I’ll keep away from changing rooms thank you 😰 😉

    Morning all.

There was a frost this morning. I forgot to get in some small logs yesterday and the stove just wouldn't light. Going now after the 3rd attempt. But it should be a warm sunny day and I will be back in the vegetable garden.

I hope your head is OK @Dovefromabove. Next time I'm in Norfolk I must make a note to visit East Runton, must look it up, I'm only familiar with East Ruston because of the garden.
