Hello all you Forkers. I'm still around but posting on the Rezzers thread. Still look in occasionally to see what you're all up to.Ā
@D0rdogne_Damsel - it doesn't seem 5 minutes ago since you were starting up your business. I remember how very brave you were at the time setting up a new life with Charlie - both home and business - and some of the huge trials and tribulations you encountered. I thought you were brave then and I still think you were / are.
I've watched your business grow and thrive and (before all this lockdown stuff) I was simply amazed by the sheer volume of work you were undertaking - you must be up at dawn every day! You seem to be very much at the social hub of your town & I am full of admiration by just how much you've achieved. The cafe looks fab!
I hope it's not too long before you can reopen but (true to form) you're not exactly sitting still just waiting for things to happen are you?šš
@Chicky - just to say - I've done more sewing in the last year than in the previous 10. Finally got around to turning the bolts of material stashed behind the study door for 8+ years into 3 sets of curtains, and also now have several items of clothing I can actually wear - they've been sitting in the wardrobe for 2 or 3 years awaiting alterations....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hi again everyone. Ā Watching a show on the History channel about tunnels under London etc. interesting. Hiding places during the blitz, Prime Ministers hides hole under there as well.Ā
Our weather hasnāt changed from this morningās effort, although we are supposed to have dangerous storms and flooding rain overnight. We are well above our river so it shouldnāt affect us on our hill. š Time will tell. Iām not confident though.
DD, I remember when you started, as well. Youāve done extremely well. Itās been lovely following all the stories from everyone. Ā Wonky especially you because I can relate to what you are doing. I looked after peopleās gardens, as well, for a few years.Iāve never forgotten the experience of helping people get enjoyment from their own gardens.
Re. This morningsā photo across our valley, our view, is from our front veranda and looking towards the east, which is vaguely towards the south east coast of NSW. Unfortunately we donāt get their weather; itās interrupted by the Great Dividing Range.

Good to see you @Topbird. Ā One of my silver linings of lockdown has been rediscovering my sewing hobby - hope I keep up with it when all this is over, as Iād forgotten just how much I enjoy it. Ā That, and many more hours in the garden šŖ“Ā
@Pat E hope you donāt get battered too much by the storms .....it never rains, but it pours āļøāļøāļø
Hello folks, been reading back as I seemed to be about 5 pages behind either that or you've all been busy posting. Hope your confused customer is okay @DOrdorgne_Damsel, you did the right thing and she is lucky to have had you to look out for her. We've just beenĀ up to the GC for H.sand for the carrots and asparagus, some Topsoil to top up the veg beds and a NG gift card for my sister. Bit peeved they had no Patio Magic or Algon anywhere, our pavings nowĀ a very ucky green colour. I could kick myself though. I had a custom made gate put in the new fencing run at the top of the garden so we could unload heavy sacks nearerĀ where they were wanted - and I forgot all about It! Poor OH was heaving them up the steps on a sack truck before I remembered. He had the grace to say he needed the exercise though.
Hi, again,Ā good to see you @Topbird.Ā @Dovefromabove I think you are right again,Ā the Rhubarb is ready, what do you thinkšĀ TBH,Ā I didn't need to force any, as it's all caught up.Ā Ā
I've spoken to the doctor today, getting my jab at 8am on Thursday.
Thanks for the compliments all, nice to see you too @Topbird. I just do the best I can everyday and actually despite lockdown/covid/Brexit I am very happy, looking forward to getting back to work but managing to keep myself occupied. All good.Ā
Thank you too for your endorsement @Lizzie27, I do hope I have done the right thing, it is better than doing nothing anyway. Typically, this evening when I visited, the lady wasĀ dressed smartly and very chatty and perky. I did send an e-mail yesterday evening to remind her I was coming, perhaps that's why, and in itself I hope that's a good sign, something for her to focus on.Ā
Very impressed with the rhubarb @Allotment Boy I could just eat that with some custard.Ā
āCoffee. Garden. Coffee. Does a good morning need anything else?ā āBetsy CaƱas Garmon
