That’s a cracking prescription there Wonky!

I had to go to work today, unfortunately, but a long weekend now.

    Sleep well all.

@sam bevington It's great that you feel like that, thank you for telling us. I wish there had been a forum when my 1st OH died. I was so lonely in France in the evenings. But Internet had hardly started.

Is he very underweight @WonkyWomble:D He won't be for long! Sounds delish.

He's got a sweet tooth @Busy-Lizzie and because he's a big tough bloke I'm not allowed to hug him even though he's secretly a softy that needs cuddles, so I show him love with sweet treats but only when he really needs it   ;)

He’s lucky, Wonky, that he is allowed to have that lovely sweet stuff. I have to watch sugar intake because my GP keeps a firm watch on my blood tests. 😡  darn it. Yes, I know she is being good, but it’s not easy when Hubby loves to bake and is always thinking of tempting things to consume.

I’m very happy to report that there was 25 mm in the rain gauge this morning. First rain since. 22 Feb.

Our son is planning on coming down tonight if he isn’t too tired after classes. Looks like Pixel will be going home this weekend. 😢 She has been an absolute delight and is getting very brave about rubbing up against us whenever she gets the chance. Slept on our bed with us again last night. 😁

Our friends across the river need their cat, Venus, to be fed today as they’ve gone away again.

Hubby got a call this morning to assist in putting out a fire in some pine trees (probably after last night’s lightning) so I’m waiting for him to return so that we can get on with our usual Friday stuff.  Maybe more rain? Hope so.

Glad your son is recovering Dove and very glad that Wonky can be there for him.

Good morning to you all!  I hope that everyone had a sound sleep last night - well, as sound as you can get.

@sam bevington  that's a pretty swish dish - I hope you had a good robust red to wash it down with!

@WonkyWomble  You are making a wonderful nurse - don't tell the dr about all those sweeties - I hope your bro enjoys every little bit!

@Dovefromabove  Happy news about your son.  Your lovely children are doing you proud.  I grew sprouting broccoli this past winter - it grew and grew .........and grew, but not one sprout did it give - so out it came and I replaced with some lettuces (under small plastic tunnel).

@Busy-Lizzie  I feel your pain but even with internet, it's still the same - long long days.  Gardening is definitely a therapy - sowing, planting and hoping.

Cloudy here so far but warmer days are coming.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • Good morning :)

Glad to hear son & brother is home safe and being spoiled @Dovefromabove @WonkyWomble.

This forum, as I have said before is most certainly a lovely 'go to' safe, comfortable environment in good times and bad, very much like our gardens. Lockdown has certainly been made easier by having it at our fingertips.

Garden here has also had a good dose of rain @Pat E, much needed surprisingly. Very timely for my new shrubs too. :)

A bit of a messy day for me today, a delivery @CdeG at 8pm, lunch for 2 at noon, cakes for 6 at 2:30 and supper for 2 at 6pm. I have to do some preparation for a lunch and a Mother's Day Afternoon Tea for tomorrow too, so not much chance to get into the garden. However, not too bad as with it being very wet, it's probably best to leave it for a day anyway.

So, time to get organised, have a good day all. :)
