Now I’m feeling guilty again after reading how busy you all are in your gardens. Apart from keeping my potted herbs and a few other favourite alive on the eastern veranda, I’ve done nothing.

Having Pixel here for snuggles and chats is lovely. Hubby said she slept between us last night. It would take something loud to wake me, so I didn’t get to enjoy her company. 😁I’m really going to miss her when our son comes and gets her. Next weekend I think.😏

I’m trying not to get too confident, but I think we might, just might, get some rain from the clouds building up outside. Everything I look at in the garden beds are sagging and I’m not in the mood to start dragging hoses about. I noticed the Colchicum has started to flower, but one of the stems has been severed, so someone out there thought it was worth a taste.  😡 I hope it left a bad taste in their mouths and that they stay away from the rest. I like seeing the lovely pinkie/mauve colours.

Sorry to hear about another banged finger and hope it’s not as bad as Hosta’s.  No wonder Aunty Rach thinks it reminds her of work.

    Sleep well everyone.

Morning Dove. Well, as usual, the clouds evaporated and it’s been sunny and mid 20s today.  Hope you all are ok.

  • Good morning @Dovefromabove and @Pat E. We've not got our rain yet (tomorrow possibly) but a sneaky and chilly -5 degrees this morning.  :open_mouth: My poor daffodils are drooping all over the place and I am not sure if the blossom on the Magnolia Stellata will perk back up again. Usually it's the wind that spoils it. Poor thing all that effort for a couple of days of bloom.

Luckily the oil man is due this morning, although it takes a good day for the underfloor heating to get going and have any effect. The wood burner is great in the evenings, but no fun first thing in the morning. Hopefully this will be the last delivery we need this winter.

Charlie finishes school at 11am today then I am taking him to the bank. He has a savings account but now he wants a debit card (like his friends) because he wants to be in control of his money. He has a weekend gardening job, plus some pocket money and he's decided he wants some for a rainy day and some to spend when he feels like it, but doesn't want to carry cash. All sounds very sensible and grown up.

His school report came in this morning too (e-mail), it's the best one he's ever had, I am so pleased with him, he has definitely matured this last year, he's busy thinking about his future education plans too. I'm very happy to watch him flourish.
(sorry, proud mummy moment over).

Another coffee required and then hopefully it will have warmed up out there, more soil shifting required today.

    Morning folks 😀

Good luck with your interview tomorrow @sam bevington 🍀🍀🍀.  Great to hear Charlie is doing so well @D0rdogne_Damsel - proud mummy moment is well deserved 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.  Hope the hand is not too sore this morning @Allotment Boy ......those hammers are wreaking havoc 🙀.

Off to be jabbed this morning.  Going to Epsom, which is a 2 hour round trip - but one that I am very happy to make.  It wasn’t very long ago that I used to travel more than that on a daily basis, just to get to the office. So happy to leave the local appointments to those who have difficulty arranging transport.  Feels like a BIG day 😀😀😀.

Its also Chicklet’s birthday tomorrow, so there are cakes (of the cheese variety) to be made.  And the latest Garden Club zoom lecture this evening.  So a bit busy - hope any side effects take a while to kick in 🙄.

Some interesting points on here, . I am not a Royalist, but do admire the queen, I have a cousin her age, she definitely doesnt work full time.( hese days I have to keep saying things like, you cannot say this or that, the word begining with D, which means not having white skin, she is genuinly puzzled, and would be so upset if anyone called her a racist. Never liked Airmiles Andy, Princess Anne does a good job, and by all accounts goes to local shops, no-one turns a hair.  Agree about the publicity thing, who was it who said "all publicity is good publicity"Get annoyed reading things like the other a black woman, who says we are unconsciously racist, am I an unconscious serial killer too. Chicky  envy here, can I come and lay on your beds please.  I think Harry wanted out, and she provided the means. Good luck to them, and please lets not hear anymore
  • Good luck with your BIG DAY @chicky, and thank you for your kind comments regards Charlie, I am sure for some people proud mummy moments are cringe worthy but I like to recognise his achievements as it's so easy to complain about his faults (messy bedroom/slovenly habits). Like @Nanny Beach I meant to say how much I love your greenhouse and raised bed project. In the words of @Hostafan1 WOW, WOW & triple WOW.

Like you @sam bevington, I am spending too many hours and too much money on plants, although I am trying desperately to beg, borrow and divide. Hope you get the job to pay for yet more plants though, fingers crossed for you.

Sun is out, off I go, barrow and shovel at the ready. :)

    Morning all.
As @chicky said : "Good luck with your interview tomorrow @sam bevington .  Great to hear Charlie is doing so well @D0rdogne_Damsel - proud mummy moment is well deserved .  Hope the hand is not too sore this morning @Allotment Boy"

That went a bit big , soz!

Raining here to day so stuck indoors. Too windy to work in polytunnel. It's deafening in there when it's this windy.

Oooh yes ... Fingers very crossed @SamBevingtong 🤞

Lovely to be a proud Mummy @D0rdognedamsel :disappointed:
Slightly anxious Mummy here as my son has an important operation tomorrow  which will affect whether his hearing can recover enough to be able to resume his career as a sound engineer ... positive vibes please.
Hopefully it's an auspicious day @chicky ... hope Chicklet has a lovely day.

  • Thanks Forkers, wet here today so will be indoors prepping the upstairs landing area for the Skype interview tomorrow  - got to get the background right lol! Also four vocal dogs to try and block out. Hope the Wifi works up there ...might just have to test a few gardening websites not! Will tidy the greenhouses this afternoon ready for all those plugs. Off for my jab on Friday 😁😁
