    Hello all.

I hope firstborn and her OH start to recover soon, @Yviestevie, thinking of you and sending hugs.

    Heavy rain in the night.
This morning there was a sunny period and it's very mild so I thought I would prune a tall climbing rose on the house, also the Boston ivy. Bit scary had to use the tallest ladder. Rose was over the roof so I chopped it to a metre below the roof. Cut about 10 metres off the creeper which had gone too far sideways, through the rose and also on the roof. Then it started tipping with rain. Wanted to do the grape vine over the garage door, will have to wait. Haven't cleared up the prunings yet.

Have been making chicken, veg and noodle soup with the remains of the small roasted chicken I bought the other day. We'd been having chicken sandwiches for lunch. Soup is simmering on the wood burning stove. Too late for today's lunch.

Hi everyone. I’ve been AWOL for a couple of days. The tooth hole in my jaw has been a darned problem, and I’ve never swallowed so many Panadol in my life.  Anyway, it’s much better now and I can feel more chatty. Have stopped the Panadol now.

So sorry to hear of your family problems Yviestevie.  I hope they can get better before too long. It’s such a worry for you all , I’m sure.

Hubby’s nephew passed away two days ago, as they had previously been warned, so there have been lots of long phone calls between Qld and here.  Apparently the RAAF are organising the funeral arrangements and we will be able to watch it on line. He was only 53. Very sad for his wife and 9 children.

I’m very glad to read all your news everybody. It’s lovely to have friends with common interests, such as gardening .  Night all.

Sunny periods here are brief and not as scheduled and the bits in between are seriously unpleasant.  Not going out but the back half of my brain is re-considering where to plant my lovely red stemmed cornuses to get the best view of their stems in winter and I've hit upon a plan for the white wisteria - grow it along the potager fence and up and over its gate posts.

I have made a leek, pea and mature Gouda fritata which does OH and me for 3 lunches - easy quiche and lots of eggs.   One of the chooks lays eye-watering whopper eggs, one lays small ones and the rest seem to be medium.   Now averaging 5 a day for the last few days.   They are very chatty and sociable now.

@Yviestevie  Thoughts are with you.  Please keep us up to date.  Such a worry.

A rainy day and the temperature has dropped considerably.  I managed to weed around my lettuces (tunnelled), a few fertiliser balls and a dig before the rain finally set in and I had to stop.  A day for sorting out the seed situation.

    Have a good afternoon everyone.

Chilly here too ... roundabout 3C but with a strong wind that makes it feel colder ... the wind is making huffing and puffing noises in the chimney so it must be pretty strong. Just checked ... the wind is from the east and with wind-chill it’s s’posed to feel -2C. No wonder I need a warmer jumper and have turned the thermostat up a notch. 🥶

Good to see you @Pat E  ... glad your mouth is feeling a bit easier. Our condolences to you and your family on your loss. Much too young. 😢

You snuck in @Pat E!   Good to see you feeling perkier but sorry for your loss.

It's getting colder here too now @Dovefromabove.  I've had to put on a scarf and am thinking about leg warmers too.  Don't want a bulky jumper as I need to go and cut out some curtains.....

Haven’t worn keg warmers for a while ... might be an idea for the leftover wool stash when everyone’s got enough woolly hats.
As for now ... I’ve got a visual migraine ... not had one for years ... can’t see this phone screen properly so please excuse typos.
    It’ll pass off in a while ...

    Afternoon all.

Condolences to your family @Pat E

Thoughts to @yviestevie and family too.

Did my Birdwatch earlier but he website has crashed so I can’t enter my results yet.

Stay safe all - particularly anyone with snow coming ❄️

Missed you there Dove - I get those - horrible, but mine usually pass in about half an hour and I take analgesia just in case.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

No bird watching here @AuntyRach .  Far too blustery for them.

My leg warmers are decades old now @Dovefromabove but still in good nick and useful when I need a wee warm up round the feet and legs but not upper bulk.   Hate visual migraines but s'pose they're better than the alternative.  Hope it passes soon.

Yes ... they don’t usually last long ... this ones moving out to my peripheral vision now.
I never had them until I had shingles when I was about 42 ... Ma used to have the full blown pain nausea and bed for 48 hours. Mine are only a problem if I’m driving ... I’m lucky ☺️
