  • Good morning,

Thinking about you too and your family @Yviestevie.

Managed a lovely walk yesterday and a half hour or so in the garden just cutting back a few bits and pieces and topping up the birdfeeders, gosh the word has got around about new food choices.  :open_mouth: Just so nice to get out, so many bulbs coming up now - there is hope in sight, although it's drizzling heavily again this morning.

I have to go to a big DIY shop today to get the wallpaper for the tearoom. It seems big non essential stores are going to be forced to close, although I am not sure this DIY store is even as big as the restriction, but as I have a man coming to wallpaper in a week or two I better get myself organised now. Mask and sanitiser at the ready!

A little picture of my snowdrops, such a good show this year, it has taken about 5 years for them to develop to this extent but they are such lovely delicate flowers it is worth the wait.

    Morning all,

    V. windy here overnight into this morning - the 'blow away' is trying to :o  - rocking back and forth with the plastic cover puffing in and out like a pair of lungs!

The non-recycling wheelie bin has gone for a wander (emptied on Thursday) so off out to fetch it now.

Good day for a run as long as the rain stays away - it'll really blow the cobwebs away!

Good morning Forkers.   For some reason I was convinced today is Sunday.  Losing track of the days here but my excuse is I had my first decent night's sleep in months.

Hope all are well or being well cared for as needs be.  Hugs where needed especially @Yviestevie.  Hope No 1 is behaving now.

Windy here but neither as blowy nor as wet as predicted but it seems Storm Justine is a bit late on parade.   I shall make the new bathroom curtains, at last, cos the light shines in from there when we have a bright moon or early sunrise.

    Stay safe and warm everyone.

Good morning all  :) ☕  I'm a bit late this morning ... (well, it is the second celebration of this year's birthday, we're having Chinese this evening as Sainsbugs delivered last night).

Do hope @Yviestevie's family are improving 🤞🤞🤞

I've just heard from @WonkyWomble that she's ministering to the poorly as her brother, who lodges with them, had a reaction to his jab last night  ... she's hoping he'll sleep it off as he doesn't have to work until Monday.

The car alarm went off ..........

Edited to add .... how did that post just then? ....... the car alarm went off in the night ... having checked that no tyre was deflating and the roof seal wasn't dripping rain into the car (an occasional problem with convertibles) it can only have been the spell of very gusty wind ... I am glad we had the ash tree pollarded.  :)

Hi folks, Haven't spoken to Firstborn yet but have had a word with her Hubby.  Merri is much better, Mabel no symptoms at all but Firstborn is still really poorly.  Her Hubby says they have a machine to test their oxygen levels and are keeping a close eye on it.  He is really poorly too.  His breathing sounds horrible.  I just want to be able to do something but can't. Thanks for all your lovely messages.

Hi @Yviestevie glad to hear merri is improving let's hope she starts a trend with the rest of the family  :)
It's another soggy day today,  very frustrating!

  • I have spent the morning browsing flowers and have got myself some very nice specimens on the way - I hope! :) I am really planning on filling my two 'hot beds', one at CdeG and one at home with really hot plants, dahlias, lupins, candelabra primula and some other little goodies.

New shrubs also ordered for my 'gap' in the garden screen.

I really hope the sun comes out soon, I'll have no money left otherwise.
