    Morning all.
Hello @chicky :) Glad your Dad is keeping well through his treatment - hope everyone else with family ailments sees some improvements soon.
Belated Happy Birthdays to all the January birthday people - I am one myself but not 'til tomorrow. I like to leave everything to the last responsible moment  :)
It definitely hasn't stopped raining @Allotment Boy - it's coming in sideways here. I'm drinking my tea, pondering whether the dogs will let me get away with not taking them for a walk today. Probably not. I may need to use the lanyards  :o

Happily, I need to buy some seeds but I may keep that for a birthday treat tomorrow, after I've made myself some fairings - don't think I'll run to a cake.

More stormy weather forecast for the weekend. So I hope you can all stay safe and warm and dry at home. Don't think I'll be doing the Birdwatch this weekend - especially if you can't count ones that get blown past at 70 miles an hour. All the smart ones are tucked up in the woods, keeping out of the rain and gales

Morning folks, we got a bit excited this morning. OH received 2 texts, allegedly from the NHS offering him vaccine appointment at "Marstons Pharmacy" wherever that is for 1st one and 2nd at the Black Country Museum!

We live in Somerset! Is this  a scam and if not, how do we cancel them? What should we do. We think they've been sent to the wrong phone number.

Just ignore them Lizzie, I think the second page asks for bank details according to someone in my village on Facebook. I received my letter yesterday and booked online; very easy. Going to Westpoint on Sunday!

Brilliant news!  Son has had the jab this morning 👍 he’s front-line delivering prescriptions to the elderly and care/nursing homes etc in an area of high incidence. I can breathe a little more easily 😊

    Morning all.

Glad about your son's jab, Dove, that's one less thing to worry about.

Don't know when we'll get our jabs, France is late and booked up and OH should have his in Norfolk but he hasn't been invited yet. He's not there anyway.

Technician came from Orange this morning to install Internet, phone and TV. He's done  Internet but said the phone line is faulty so he didn't install the phone and the TV needs another satellite dish because the Internet signal isn't strong enough for Wifi TV. If the phone line works for Internet then I don't understand how it doesn't work for the phone. Previous owner says the phone worked fine. Satellite man said the signal should be enough but he'll come and have a look. But Orange forgot to supply the card that goes with the TV decoder.

That sounds complicated @Busy-Lizzie.  We have satellite for Sky and Freeview TV but an Orange modem for internet and the phone so no actual phone line.   We can pick up French TV thru the modem and another box but rarely do.

Internet is slow, especially at peak times for people working from home now but it's OK for our needs and we are way down the list for the roll out of fibre optic service.   No idea why as there is a new mast just a few kms from here but our mobile signal is very weak.  One bar at best and OH has to go upstairs to our office for his weekly whatsapp chat with BIL and junior SIL.

Oh dear, @Busy-Lizzie, what a shambles.

I actually had my letter delivered just after I last posted, so have just booked my vaccine appointment. I'm being done on Sunday (and hopefully we're going to ask if OH can be done at the same time).
Good news about your son Dove
Thanks Lorraine, we've just ignored it.

Just settling down for a night at the theatre .....the Old Vic is coming to my living room courtesy of zoom.  Matt Smith and Claire Foy doing a double act.  Feel like I should have put a posh frock on 👗.   Interval drinks have been ordered 🥂🤣

Evening all,  In a bit of a panic at the moment as Firstborn has taken a turn for the worse.  They wanted to take her to hospital but she wont go so she's on antibiotics for a secondary infection and being monitored by Covid Watch, whatever that is.  No underlying health concerns, 40 and does at least 3 10k runs per week plus 4mile walk to work and back every day.
