Morning all, Definitely coffee in the mornings @WonkyWomble, I prefer wine in the evenings, but 29 days into January and I haven't had a drop.
The sun looks like it might be out here too, I am stuck in the tearoom this morning waiting a delivery but hope to get in the garden at least for a little bit later - at last!

Morning all, thank goodness the rain has gone. Not sure how much it's going to help as the ground is already saturated. There were pools of water everywhere on the plots yesterday. Garden bird watch this weekend.
☕ @D0rdogne_Damsel I'm impressed at you not even drinking on your birthday! I did read what you said about your alcohol free wine and thought to myself that I'm not going to be rushing to open the bottle I got given at Christmas! @Dovefromabove how do you handle the excitement???? To be honest, my life is much the same but without the milkman, I'm a favourite of the binmen though so Thursdays is always a special day 😄
@Allotment Boy i know what you mean! we are due more rain later and its been constant for weeks, except when it snowed! There are signs of spring everywhere but when I inspect green shoots I get soaked! ..... doesn't stop me though!
Just seen in the local paper about Charlies's school having 90+ cases of food poisoning, he had said a lot of his friends had been off sick yesterday and they were given bottled water at lunchtime which he thought was unusual. One of the parents has said there were over 180 cases but the newspaper said 93 and rising. Looks like he had a lucky escape.

Bird counting for me today too @Allotment Boy ......will wait til this afternoon when the rain is meant to ease off. Pilates this morning, then I need to do some college work. My RHS level 2 exams have been postponed (should have been next week), so no revision needed yet. But college has continued online - it actually works very well. Still really enjoying the course - a different revelation every week 🤓🤓🤓
Dad has been very lucky with his immunotherapy side effects @Dovefromabove. He gets a bit of itching for a couple of days after each dose (every 3 weeks), and has had some weird numbing sensations in his arms, but annoying rather than debilitating. He was warned, however, that there was a 50% chance of him having side effects so severe that he would end up in hospital (and only a 20% chance of the treatment working). So there is a pretty small sweet spot, that he seems to have hit. He also finds that the side effects tend to be a bit different each time. Hope your brother’s pain improves and that the treatment works for him. They are learning so much about it every day - it really is evolving 🤞🏻
@WonkyWomble as you may know I volunteer at Capel Manor. I was grumpy about my jacket letting water in spite of having re- proofed it. A couple of weeks later they gave me a set of waterproofs . They are Flex wear no idea of cost though. @chicky yes I forgot how early the RHS exams were, still extra revision time can't be bad. Sadly I have forgotten a lot of the plant names we learned but I'm still glad I did it.
Thanks Chicky ... looks like your father is lucky ... long may it continue ... 🤞 Little Brother is finding it tough going ... what with the long 90 min drive each way twice a week (SIL drives of course) and the pain following treatment ... he's only getting snatched short periods of sleep for the 48 hours following, and that only with pretty hefty doses of Oramorph. It's so tough for them ... it's not that long since their youngest was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in her first year at uni ... she did her second year while having major chemo and radiotherapy bless her, only going home for a couple of days after each session and then returning to campus in Shropshire. Remarkably she graduated with a really good degree. She's in remission now and and married a lovely chap in 2019 and they had their first baby last April (a strapping lad built like a Suffolk Punch just like his dad) ... Bro is such a softy about little ones and should be enjoying his four grandchildren ... it's so sad. I suppose too that one always feels a bit responsible for one's younger sibling, even when they're a grandfather.

Dad has been having his immuno treatments at home since Covid stuff started - maybe that will be an option for your brother later @Dovefromabove? Saves having to go anywhere near a hospital, and saves us the hassle of trying to work out how to get him there.
That sounds good @chicky , he's finding everything so tiring ... although at least the drive to Cambridge/Newmarket gets SIL out of the house and she has a change of scenery ... otherwise she's shielding just as Bro is, to keep him safe. I think he's having some tests next week or the week after, to see how it's going ...🤞
