Amazingly clever pigeons on Winterwatch ... birds to be reckoned with, the Columbidae .... Columbo’s  pretty smart too 🤣

It is blowing a hooly out there and there's a very eerie light from the gibbous moon filtered thru hazy cloud cover now the heavy stuff has dumped and moved eastwards.   Woke me up with all the blustering and can't see me getting back to sleep for a while.

Sofa with a fleece blanket and my trusty Kindle then.   Humph!

B*gger! Dropped off for a couple of hours when I should've gone up to bed so now awake and got the urge for a quick skim on here before going up.

I actually kept a tally of my spending on the garden in 2020 - £500. I thought that wasn't too bad after coming back to it after near total neglect for 10 years or so. I've got rid of a lot and now have a relatively blank canvas and 70-80 plants in pots waiting for a home in the ground. Plant the right ones in the right spots and the place should be transformed by 2022.

If the new raspberry canes and blackberry bush are as productive as the ever-present strawberries, we should get a decent amount of fruit from our little patch. I won't be able to grow masses of veg but it'll all help to reduce the weekly shopping bill and get some financial return on the investment to add to all the benefits that are harder to quantify.

Despite all the temptations on offer, I won't be spending that much again. I've got all the seed I need left over so a new pair of secateurs, compost and maybe a couple of blueberry bushes are all I'm planning on purchasing this time round ;)

    Good morning all ... 😊 ☕️ It’s ok @WonkyWomble ... coffee has arrived here 😎

Daren’t add up what I’ve spent in the garden @Biglad ... but I know it’d be a lot more if I’d not had plants grown by Wonky, coupled with generous Christmas and birthday vouchers 😊

@chicky 😊 if I may ask, how does your father find the immunotherapy treatments affect him? I spoke with my brother yesterday ... he’s having two treatments a week, and finds the pain for a couple of days following treatment to be pretty grim, and he really is no wimp. Does your father have pain following treatments?

Morning @Desi_in_London tea for you,  no problem! I need coffee to start the day and pints off darjeeling tea to end the day!

Don't worry @Dovefromabove, I've found more  unique beautiful seeds to grow this year too  so that will keep costs down.  Just waiting for it to warm up a bit too start it all off! Send my love to uncle Dove please,  really hope the treatment can help him.  Don't know much about how it works but certainly hope it does x

It's finally stopped raining so you can all wake up now,  suns trying to come out,  could be a lovely day and it's Friday!!

Yes @WonkyWomble TGIF 😂 although for a retired person with no tennis on Wednesdays, days of the week have little meaning 😆 I do usually cook a roast or something a bit special on Sundays to punctuate the week ... and there’s always Bin Day on Thursdays and milk deliveries on Tuesday, Thurs and Sat to bring excitement to our lives. 🤣
