Son 2 came this morning to take his small things, a claret jug, some china, toys, books and hay for his chickens. He filled in his attestation to say he was helping a vulnerable person but there weren't any gendarmes. We didn't hug but it was good to see him, I had told him I was feeling down.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That's lovely @Busy-Lizzie, it must have been such a pleasure to see your son, if only for a short time. Upwards and onwards as they say. It looks like I'll soon be helping my daughter to pack her things up - unless of course she doesn't want me fussing around! There's still groundwater seeping into her rented house so it's not habitable really (okay for an overnight stay). A second builder is going to inspect soon.
Bro is still in hospital ... SIL said yesterday that she hoped he would be moved from HDU to a 'normal ward' yesterday and he was hoping that they'd let him go home on tomorrow but she wasn't sure ... she thought maybe he was too eager. Still no results from the biopsies, but they'll probably have to wait for a discussion with the consultant to find out.
Oooh, a load of envelopes have just arrived for our Christmas cards ... now all I've got to save up for are the stamps 😜

Afternoon all, Fingers crossed for your brother @Dovefromabove It's a sunny afternoon here didn't see much of the morning as I had a long lie in after a late night. Had problems with my knee over the last couple of days but it's much better this morning. Secondborn hasn't had her covid test result yet but she is feeling ok today so we are hopeful that it will be negative.
@Busy-Lizzie glad that you managed to see your son. You are getting things done a bit at a time so don't think about how much you still have to do, take it steady.
Didn't time it too badly so stayed relatively dry at the track. Surprisingly got a lot brighter with some blue sky in evidence for a while. Seems to be darkening by the second now though.
Doesn't matter as, apparently, I'm cleaning a bathroom and doing the washing-up in the not too distant
I was thinking that too @Busy-Lizzie and @Dovefromabove. Slow and steady is good altho I confess sometimes a high energy blitz followed by a short flop is good too. Great that your son could pop over. Have to confess Possum and I both forgot our "attestations" for walkies yesterday but I've never been stopped on the way to or from the SM or anywhere else in either lockdown.
It's raining again after stopping for a while. It seems our area is on amber alert for strong winds coupled with high tides and rain bringing flooding. I popped out to see the chooks in a dry spell and found them all happily poodling about in OH's compost heap behind the polytunnel. He turned it yesterday and now they're spreading it for him. Oops. Another egg tho - 4 today - so it looks a tho they're over their trauma and it's good to see they all have fluffy bums now instead of raw, red skin.
Knees can be a PITA @Yviestevie. Mine keeps me awake some nights. Hope yours stays quiet and that your daughter is OK too.
I wouldn't fancy sleeping in an oozing house @Lizzie so I hope your daughter finds somewhere safe and dry to live soon.

It's raining here sadly after a beautiful start. I am making Christmas cakes though and have the takeaway dinner order to get ready (again) for later on. I have also got some ladies coming in at 4pm for takeaway Cream Teas, how very civilised. They are French too, so we have managed to convert them.
I am looking at new plants whilst waiting, in fact am about to ask advice on another thread.
Hope you are all making the most of the day, wet or dry.
Just think @Biglad after a wet track session this morning you can now indulge yourself in TV sports with a clear conscience. I always used to like to get the training sessions done in the morning, get that box ticked off and not hanging over me all day.

Agreed @D0rdogne_Damsel Although a snack of Monster munch and a bar of chocolate whilst watching might be pushing it
The weather has flipped again - two hours of light left and the sun is shining. Can I be bothered to get the spade out?
For those with knee troubles, do you use any creams/potions as part of your pain relief? I suffer a little and the likes of Deep Relief, Deep Heat (a bit smelly) and Voltarol gels do take the edge off when the pain is really nipping.
