You can have our rain @Pat E we are getting a bit much at the moment. Morning to everyone as they check in. We had an odd evening yesterday we only had to cook for 2, at last they have a functional kitchen ( sd & sil) maybe we can all get back to doing our own thing again. My wife loves to look after them but nearly 4 months was a bit much especially as the last 2 weeks everything had to be transported to them.
Morning all/afties, evening @Pat E I forgot to look in here. Hopeless mare.... @Yviestevie - you're getting more than your fair share of cr*p just now. We understand. No need to feel you can't post here if it's only the horrible news. One day - it will get better for you and your family x @AuntyRach - that's a lovely thing to do. The small things are what's important. It's like that young carer who made the cushion with the photo of his late wife on it. I'll never forget the look on that man's face, and how it helped him. She was a delight that young girl. Heartening for you - and your son @PurpleRose . Not easy for youngsters to keep focused just now. Wet again here, but it looks like it's tailing off a bit, so I'll get out soon.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Yviestevie we are here to listen, we all have bad patches - let's hope yours is over soon.
Looks sunny outside. I shall tackle the "cave" today, a sort of semi-cellar and general dumping ground. It's also where the wine is kept and bats live there.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello all, I would like to reiterate @Yviestevie all that has been said before, we are here to listen and help you over the bad patches as others do for me. A lovely warm sunny day again here as it has been for the last week! I planted all my garlic yesterday and today all arthritic joints are shouting so will have a lazy day today. My new passport arrived yesterday, so strange to see the different colour - a very dark navy blue. Time for a coffee on the terrace now and see what "weeds" OH has been pulling up in the garden. He is going to move a small Pyracantha for me but has strict instructions not to do it until I'm there.
Morning all, It's a bit grey and dismal here. I've got the lamps on in the lounge to make it feel cosy. It's not particularly cold but may light a fire just to cheer things up. @floralies sympathies re arthritic joints mine aren't the best at the moment. Knee is really playing up could be from lifting Gabriel in and out of his car seat 16 times yesterday. He's no light weight and it's awkward getting him in. I've hit the WD40 (ibruprofen rub) so hopefully it will improve over the day. Planning to get on with my knitting today. No news yet on Secondborn's Covid test. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that it's negative. She had a lot on her plate recently so it could just be her body saying enough is enough. Stay safe everyone.
No @Biglad he has had years of training I'm afraid, it's a case of if you are not really interested in learning about plants etc and relies on me to direct operations.
Fair enough @floralies. At least you have some help. Nothing from my lot apart from comments like, "can we have more colour". Pressing a button on a remote control didn't seem to work. apparently
I'm not feeling too good at the moment either. Anniversary of 1st OH's death in 10 days, heart attack, should have got over it by now as it was 22 years ago and I have a lovely, kind 2nd OH - but he is stuck in England because of Covid. His wife died in November too. I'm afraid of having to move house without him, just hope he can make it back by January. I am fed up with loading the enormous skip now, back and knees are really protesting. So many memories are disappearing into it and I hate throwing away books. The charity book place is shut at the moment and the books are in English.

@Busy-Lizzie you must be finding it tough trying to tackle such a big life change all on your own. Hopefully things will go smoothly and time will pass quickly just keep thinking about how lovely it will be when you are settled in your new house and OH is with you.

More o/night rain and it looks dank out there at the moment. Didn't even set foot in the garden yesterday but will have a mooch later.
Is the Under Gardener still early in his training @floralies?
