I can hardly believe that October is nearly finished. Ā  The weeks seem to fly by.Ā

We tend not to watch much news at the moment Pat ... what we hear on the Today programme on Radio 4 in the morning is enough to keep us informed without getting into our souls and making us despair. Looks like we were right šŸ˜žĀ

The way things are at the momentĀ @Pat E, maybe it’s a good thing that time’s passing quickly. šŸ™„Ā

Morning all/afties @Pat E. Your washing will be well washed anyway - I'm not sure mine would be staying attached if I left it out!
I'm surprised you don't have the mask thing though. Has that not been a rule/guideline at all? I have mixed feelings about them for various reasons, which I think we've discussed before on here.Ā
The new phones are quite straightforward @Busy-Lizzie, so you should be up and running pretty quickly. A shame you couldn't just have got back here with OH - I don't expect much house moving would be happening anyway.
I'm hopefully going to get something done outside today as it's supposed to be dry and bright. The weekend looks out of the question for anything other than indoor jobs.Ā

Oh dear ...Ā I fear something sad has happened at our neighbours’ across the way ... two daughters are there, no blinds are openĀ neither are any windows ... most unusual for a morning.

I’ve not seen him since the paramedic call out in the wee small hours a week ago. She told me a couple of years ago that he had an untreatable brain aneurism and one day it would ā€˜just go’. They’re a lovely couple, cheerful and kind and very good neighbours, both in their 80s but always doing something ... although he’s had some health problems. They met and married after his first wife (the girls’ mother) died young. I hope I’m wrong ... times are sad enough ...

Very sad @Dovefromabove. Heart breaking for all those who are losing relations, of any age, just now.
Going quickly, if that's been the case, must be the best way, even if it's a shock for everyone else close to them. I'm always grateful that it was like that for my parents.Ā

    Back again.
Ā Re the news, I know it’s depressing, but I like to keep informed, so it’s a case of putting up with the bits I’m not happy with and being glad to know what’s going on.Ā
Watching a weird show with Caroline Quentin looking at strange houses. Haven’t seen her for years.Ā

I think I saw that programme @Pat E. The other bloke was an architect or similar? I wasn't keen on her presenting, but it was quite an enjoyable watch. We have a similar prog here, where three folk, from different spheres of life,Ā  look at various homes up here,Ā  and pick a winner. All a bit daft, but nice for having a look at all the different styles of houses, and locations. We're just nosey at heart aren't we?Ā  :D
ThinkĀ  I'll head off for my walk now. Nice to not need the waterproofsĀ  :)

Oh yes @Pat E ... we keep ourselves informed ... the BBC Radio 4 Today Programme is the best factual news programme in the UK ... it was once said that for the Commanders of our nuclear submarine ... if they'd been cut off from the world for some time (as they often are) and when they regained radio contact, if the Today Programme wasn't on air every morning it would be safe to assume that something catastrophic had happened to the UK.Ā Ā https://www.joe.co.uk/news/this-one-secret-signal-lets-britain-know-if-nuclear-war-is-about-to-kick-off-17917

    Morning all,

    It's stopped raining :o

Got a phone call out of the blue last evening which, to all intents and purposes, was a job interview. I should find out today if the garden is going to be neglected again.
