I'm wondering if there's anyone who didn't laugh when they heard about Trump?
I've heard that some Americans like him. No accounting for taste.
Signed the Compromis for this house and my new house yesterday, feel much more relaxed.
I found 3 boxes of baby clothes in a cupboard so have been bagging them up to put in the charity bin for Emmaus, but I don't suppose little girls wear hand smocked dresses nowadays. I've kept a couple and the one my grandmother made for me.
Went to tea with my friend in the village. She'd made a cake with pieces of chocolate in it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That takes me back a bit @Busy-Lizzie - I used to hand-smock little girls dresses as a small business in the 1970's. They used to be very popular then and apparently still are today. It's nice you've kept a few.
Are you going to celebrate with a glass or two tonight? It's a 'phew, glad that's over' moment isn't it. When do you hope to move in?
Evening all. Hope everyone has had a decent enough day- weather permitting. @Liriodendron - makes a nice change - us getting the drier stuff All change tomorrow though. Hill was very pleasant, as it always is, and I got a few things done when I came home, including picking sloes for my sister and her gin. No idea when I'll be able to see her. She helps with my nephew's children, so I wouldn't want to cause any issues with the whole 'bubble' thing which is all gobbledegook to me now. I know my place.... I'm just surprised the White House minions didn't come up with the idea of telling him he had the virus ages ago, and confining him to barracks Have you nailed the bu**er down @Biglad ? @Dovefromabove 's fish and chips sounds grand. Send a small piece up here pretty please...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
In France you have 3 months from signing the initial contract of intent to get the finances and all the rest in place and complete which would be the 1st of January. I expect there will be some leeway either side.......... I hope that chocolate cake served as celebration cos it's not easy with your OH being away @Busy-Lizzie
It has started raining here again but none of the storms and thunder they mention which is good - I love it but Bonzo dog tries to crawl under the furniture.  No idea what the hens would think of it but I'm off to make sure their bedding is clean and dry and plentiful. They've all got big bare patches so need the cozies.
They love the hanging cabbage @Dovefromabove and really love OH's grapes but not so keen on slices of Granny Smith..........
Didn't have any smocked stuff for Possum but I can see the appeal of doing it and yes, it is fashionable in certain quarters but not very practical for every day clothes.  I've kept the best stuff Possum had - usually gifts from a special person or associated with an event or person.
Pretty much @Fairygirl It can only really escape if it goes straight up (as if being abducted by aliens ) and I'd think that unlikely given the weight it is now holding.
Any right-minded underling would've put a few drops of Covid in his morning coffee at the earliest opportunity Â
Someone should have given him the virus long ago - before they learned how to manage it better but even his less faithful adoring staff aren't that bright!
Hello here you all are October already! I was at Capel Manor yesterday, but left early so I could fit in a quick trip to Allotment in the pm. So glad I did as it's not stopped raining all day here. We have been making Red pepper & tomato soup today, will keep some to use straight away and freeze the rest, as it looks like that sort of weather for a while. The sad thing about the news from the US is they will probably waste some precious convalescent plasma on him to make sure he clears the virus quickly. On the reading list we have been reading Spoon Fed, by Tim Spector the man who heads up the Twin research group and is involved in the Covid symptom app. Its subtitle is "Why almost everything we've been told about food is wrong" very interesting read. His main premise is, since we all have very individual, and different responses to food, most generalised dietary advice is either wrong or inappropriate for most of us.Â
Moving day is 10th January. The notaire thought it would be best to get the holidays over with. I have had a small sherry but it's not the same without OH. My friend's cake and 2 mugs of tea was better really.

Practical notaire!  Where did you find sherry? Can't get it here and I used to use it a lot for starting onions and such for sauces and casseroles. Just cheap dry fino but better than fat.

Fingers crossed the blow away doesn'tÂ
