@Obelixx has just said what I came to say, lockdown again. This time I won't be with OH in a comfortable cosy cottage in a friendly village with SM deliveries. I'll be on my own in a huge isolated house in the middle of a forest and the heating oil is getting low.
I'm not so sure about OH's flight either. Having had his flights with Ryanair, then Easyjet cancelled, we are wondering whether his flight with Air France will fly and whether I will be allowed to meet him from Bordeaux.
Daughters 1 and 2 and spouses were hiring vans to take their furniture on Saturday, probably can't now. I was going to hire a skip and I had 4 people lined up to help. That's probably all off. Don't now how I will get the house cleared for the move. I hope the sale will go ahead.
But that's nothing compared with some people. Shop owners in tears on the News. Book shops and toy shops having to shut during Christmas shopping time. People will order from Internet instead, more going bankrupt.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Daughter-in-law and 3 small granddaughters are leaving soon. Son 1 went yesterday as he is working today. Then I am going to the SM for supplies. Fruit, veg, milk, loo rolls are getting very loo as family have been coming and going during the holidays. I just wish my two daughters had time to bring their vans, if only Macron had said Saturday instead of Friday.

Morning all/afties @Pat E - they haven't mentioned an awful lot about Oz that I've heard, but the stupid people partying must be a factor. Police here have been called out to ridiculous numbers in the last two months, and the two worst areas are the ones which are going to have the most severe restrictions on Monday. @Busy-Lizzie - are you not able to stay with one of your children and their family before it happens? Surely - or is it too late for you to get there? The house can wait - you shouldn't be on your own all that time. Thinking of you all over there anyway - staying safe is the most important thing.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I don't want to be away from home at the moment @Fairygirl, there is still a lot to do here and I have my English TV and my own bed. Schools aren't closing and 2 daughters and DIL are teachers so I would be on my own all day in the wrong house.

Hi @Busy-Lizzie I wish I could help, please keep in touch on here with us all whatever you are doing and feeling at the moment, it helps to "talk" to us all. O/H and I have really done nothing much for the last few months, so basically we will just carry on as we have been doing, plenty to do outside and inside come to that. Lovely farmer from next village who cuts our field in the summer has just bought us a nice load of manure - that has made my day!! Best wishes to all.
Awful for you @Busy-Lizzie 😢. As @floralies says, keep coming on here for a chat whenever you need it. Awful for the small businesses too.
Not surprised the folks in Melbourne are partying. They have been locked up since mid August, and they now have zero cases and zero desths. I think a celebration can be forgiven 🥳
Sorry to hear of all the Covid-related issues. I'm sure that you'll find a way to get through it
Fortunately, as I haven't worked since Feb, I don't notice any difference to my daily existence when new measures are introduced or lifted. I'm anticipating that continuing until next spring but I'm finding lots of jobs to do at home in the meantime.
Just seen on TV that today's rain is "prolonged" They must be struggling now for a new description of the same old, same old
Persistent and prolonged - same difference @Biglad. I'm heading out for a walk anyway. I find the system of weather warnings strange too. The rain's to be on all day here until late tonight, but no rain weather warning, yet they have one for Sunday, when it's more about gale force winds than rain. Don't really know why they bother with them, apart from when there's really severe stuff coming in. Heavy rain is pretty standard in many parts of the UK at this time of year. My days haven't changed much either, and I have no idea what day it is half the time as the girls don't work set hours Mon to Fri. It's a running joke here when trying to plan meals according to who's here or not 'what day is it?'

((hugs)) for @Busy-Lizzie. Wish we could help 😞
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thank you @Dovefromabove.
