It's okay @Fairygirl, my son and I are both in low risk areas so we are very fortunate that he is permitted to stay overnight. Moreover he is only staying because he has an early morning business meeting in the area the following day. He's also driving up unlike his pre-Covid train journeys.
I do feel for those of you in high lockdown areas, it must be hell.
That's good then @Lizzie27. I tend to not watch the news now, apart from our own one, but I thought overnight was out, no matter what. I can't say I blame him not wanting to get on train either.Ā I said we'd had a lovely sunrise today - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-54705568 The first one is pretty much what we had- I'm quite close to Eaglesham.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi everyone, Is it just me then? the "extra" hour has played havoc with my body clock this year- so much for an extra hours sleep I keep wanting to be up at the old time which is now before the heating comes on, as the timer is modernĀ and it re-sets automatically.Ā According to my activity tracker I've had the worst 3 nights sleep in ages.
I had a lovely day too @D0rdogne_Damsel despite it being the wettest visit I have ever had to Les Sables in 4 years and I am there once a week for patch during the academic year plus personal visits for the markets or other events.Ā It was great to meet you all and I am pleased you enjoyed yourselves.Ā Ā
https://www.vendeeglobe.org/en for anyone who's curious about the race tho I do think you have to be a special kind of headcase to take on this solo round the world yacht race.Ā
I find the change hard this year too @Allotment Boy tho I did sleep very well last night after 2 horrors.Ā It has carried on raining here tho it was supposed to clear up so I haven't done the outside jobs I had planned for this pm and ended up parked on my derriĆØre doing patch admin instead.
Lovely photos @Fairygirl .Ā Just grey sunrises and sunsets here for the last few days.
Hi everyone. Iām awake, but still snuggled under the doona. Pixel is sitting on the windowsill waiting for me to get up. Hubby has an early medical appointment so he has gone to town on his own.Ā
It sounds as though DD and Obelixx had a good time, weather not withstanding. Loved the sky photos Fairy. Dove, Iāve still got pea and ham soup in the freezer from a few weeks ago, but Hubby got all enthusiastic recently and made asparagus soup. Iāve combined it with some chicken soup made from chicken drumsticks. So, we are well stocked for quick easy meals which is handy given the freezing weather that has suddenly arrived. Iām assuming thereāll be no fruit this summer again with this late spring change. Iām beginning to wonder why I even bothered to plant an orchard here. It seems to be usual for the weather to turn cold just when fruit is setting. š”
I might go to town this afternoon as Hubby has another appointment then. š . Itās not worth him hanging around for a few hours in there, and I might pop into Aldi while Iām there. Wednesday is āspecialā day.Ā

Back from a lovely day out (despite pouring rain and swirling wind) fromĀ Les Sables d'Olonne and a long wet and windy tour of theĀ Village of the VendĆ©e Globe Yacht Race. Charlie really enjoyed it. Really good to meet @Obelixx in person too. We had a whistle stop tour of the town, super market hall and a cluster of streets magically decorated with mosaics made from seashells, a real gem and a very civilised lunch. we all got soaked but despite that it was a super day. Charlie really excited to see the racing yachts up close and personal and the stories behind each of the very brave sailors all extremely interesting. We'll be following it all (again) from next week when they set off. I personally couldn't think of anything worse - single handed round the world on a yacht - but I am full of admiration for their courage and commitment. Nice to see some women in it too. Ellen MacArthur has long been a hero of mine.Ā
Anyway, I'm pretty sure I will sleep well tonight, perhaps that's what you need to do @Allotment Boy walk around all day in a blustery gale.....
Thank you again @Obelixx.Ā
