Murky, mildish and moist outside this morning. Just clocked Otis having his brekkie but Whitney is late as usual. Spotted Robin yesterday - tends to appear around this time of year and hang around for a while. The Maggies and Funkies are still being drawn to whatever next door are putting out. I'm happier with our smaller visitors.
Don't you see robins all year round in your garden @Biglad? The blackies are too busy hoovering up every berry outside the garden here, so they'll be in later in the year. Birthdays are highly overrated IMO, but hope you enjoy yours @Nanny Beach. Hope the neighbours are ok @Dovefromabove. Might get a few things done outside today if the rain holds off. Bit hit and miss yesterday. Some cuttings I did a while ago are doing well of a smaller Verbena, so I'll get them out into the greenhouse I think, and do some others.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I hope @Hostafan1's operation went well and doesn't hurt too much and that he makes a speedy recovery.
I'm off to Leclerc SM again, more supplies needed as Son 1 and family are coming. He's bringing a rented van. Daughter 2 is coming on Saturday to finish clearing out her old bedroom.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I only really notice the robins in autumn/winter @Fairygirl. However, in a normal year, I would always be working from Feb/Mar-Oct/Nov so spending very little time in the garden. 2020 has been an eye-opener in that respect
Well, it looks as if my guess was on the right lines, ย as Mrs (opposite) Neighbour is up and about ... hopefully it was nothing worse than a tumble for Mr. ๐คย
Gardening in Central Norfolkย on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
That's good @Dovefromabove. @Biglad - I think it's been an eye opener for a lot of people. Hopefully the wee robin will hang around. I had two or three all vying for the [very small]ย 'territory' I have. The youngest looking one, and the one which was already here seem to have gone, and it's the older juvenile which has triumphed. He's a shouty bandit.ย

Morning all, there are lots of B/D's this month it would seem, mine was on Tuesday, I'm not one for big celebrations either. Had a lovely Zoom session with my son and daughter, son has to have his heart monitor in for three years and is to have tests for Rheumatoid Arthritis as a consequence of the virus, otherwise all is going well.ย We only see Robins here in the winter, maybe they are migrants also song Thrushes for a short while. There are plenty of Jays around, it looks as if we may be living in an oak forest soon if we don't dig up all the acorns. Have a good day all, whatever you are up toย

And mine was yesterday ๐๐๐. As usual I seem to be in the minority as I love birthdays - both my own and other peoples ๐๐๐. Itโs lovely to make a special fuss of people.ย
ย Had a great day yesterday, despite the pouring rain. Lots of cards with catch up letters in, out for brunch with Chicklet (where they presented us with free chocolate cake to mark the occasion). Then an afternoon on the sofa watching Bake-off and a Disney film. Then some book reading (just started a really good one), then a gorgeous meal out in the tent we discovered last week โบ๏ธ. And today (Birthday Boxing Day) we are off garden visiting - West Dean here we come. Happiness ๐๐๐
