Good morning everyone.  Been lazing in bed reading my RHS magazine which arrived today but had to get up as 2nd coffee was not forthcoming.  OH is busy ironing whilst watching golf on TV.

It's a bt dull here but the sun is trying so it should be warmer this pm.  The forecast says 19C late afternoon and staying near 17C all night cos of a southerly wind.  They've also postponed tomorrow's rain by half a day but I've booked OH anyway to help me plant trees on Wednesday pm.

Chooks were keen to get out and at it this morning but then leap 2' backwards when treats are thrown their way.  I did get one to peck some cooked potato peel from my hand yesterday but she then did the backwards leap.  Progress of a sort.

Do you not have head to toe waterproofs @Fairygirl?  I'd have thought you'd need them nearly all year up your way.

Morning all.  Wet and windy here too, so there's nothing for it but to do some more decorating...  definitely too many door frames in this corridor.  I've neglected it for weeks and weeks while there's been urgent gardening but I think the time has finally arrived.   :/

Do you think there's any realistic solution to the R&BT problem, @Fairygirl?  I know tree planting works in some places, but I guess the topsoil is very thin and the underlying rock unstable there.  Can they re-route the road?  I know they use the old road sometimes when there's been a landslip.

Better get on, I suppose... at least I can look out of the window and see the gutter doing what a gutter should, this morning...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Sounds to me like the R&BT needs a flyover!  Alternatively they could maybe send someone to the Alps to see how the experts deal with making roads safe from landslip and rock slides and avalanches.   Simples.

I do @Obelixx, but when I'm out for a while, it can still be a bit of a soaking  ;)
I'll probably get out for a wee while though. As I used to say to colleague, you'd never go anywhere in Scotland if you only waited for dry days.
The chooks will be getting used to it all soon. They already seem quite settled. Lovely.
I can't see trees being the answer at all @Liriodendron. That part of the hill is almost vertical. I took this when I was out recently, which sort of shows how the roads sit
Nothing's going to 'stay', let alone knit ground together. Not that I know anything  :/
The problem with the old road is that it's sitting in the same position, it's just a bit lower down. There's various options being looked at apparently, some of them are totally ludicrous, including accessing into the glens further up, from the Loch Lomond road. Oh yeh - that's a great idea - adding more traffic to that road  :|
Someone had put a link onto the walkhighlands site which listed them all. The cost is huge though, especially if they want to make an access further south across the loch, so I think the only solution is faffing with it the way it is.
At least you know your nice clean gutters are doing their job  ;)

How was your Popmaster today @Fairygirl?  I got 18 on both but OH got 24 and 33.

24 and 21 today. That guy was brilliant wasn't he? Your OH didn't do too badly either  ;)
My daughter interrupted my train of thought on the 2nd round - with a large cake.
They're having a Bake Off thing at work, so she decided to do one, even though she's off till next Sunday. I think she's hoping I might give her a lift to deliver it....
If I get the rest of the chocolate, I might consider it  ;)

I think that once one of the chooks trusts you Obelixx, the rest of them might get brave enough to try some hand feeding as well. It’s interesting to follow their progress. 😃

It’s our 48th anniversary tomorrow. Not going anywhere, but there’s a large parcel hiding in Hubby’s study. Could be interesting. 🙄

Happy Anniversary for tomorrow @Pat E , hope you get a lovely surprise.
That road (s) look interesting @Fairygirl. We have been down the Loch Lomond road but it was many years ago, not sure if you can see the RTB road from there?

Little Sis has just left, it's a beautiful sunny day here but the wind is blowing torrents of leaves over the garden so it would be a waste of time doing any clearing up today. Might wait for the bad weather, forecast for the next few days, to bring them all down.

I'm really surprised I've had no reaction yet from the flu jab - fingers crossed.
