Thanks @Lyn, that's what I'll do. OH suggested that he did it but he is in England and the post is very unreliable here. Then I can use the printer to photocopy it.

@Fairygirl the Clem is Avalanche.  I had two growing up the rose obelisks alongside Claire Austin but one died (actually I think I might have dug it up :/) Now I have the arch in place I thought I would replace it.

I was going to offer as well but the post will be quicker from France than from here.

Nice @Yviestevie. I've looked at the forsteri clems quite often, but I think they might be as tricky as the koreanas, which just can't cope with our conditions here at all. Pity. The alpinas and macropetalas are much more forgiving.  :)

Ha!  Alpinas and Macropetalas took one look at a Belgian winter and turned up their toes @Fairygirl.  I sowed some koreana the first spring we were here but they didn't survive the heat and drought so I've saved the rest of my seeds till I'm better organised for planting them out.

@Busy-Lizzie we're supposed to be able to download that document on smart phones but it failed for both OH and Possum who has a spanking new one with all sorts of fancy stuff.   OH has resorted to printing them out for each one of us.   Mad.

I don't have a smart phone anyway. Daughter keeps saying I should get one but there is hardly any signal here so I thought I would wait until I move house.

The persistent wet is the problem for koreanas @Obelixx , but the others are up against a fence and in with other plants, or restricted in a small raised bed, which keeps them drier. It's plenty cold here in most winters, but we just have consistent cool temps, rather than the bigger extremes you probably had.

Yes @Fairygirl - too wet and too cold by half in winter I think.

@Busy-Lizzie we too have one bar of signal at best so smart or thick a mobile phone is really only good for texting here.  We lose half the content of conversations but whatsapp works for OH's weekly family chats.

Possum has us watching Interview with a Vampire.  Not rivetting.   Brad Pitt being a wet vampiree with a conscience and Tom Cruise being hard and nasty.   Well that comes naturally for him doesn't it?

@Dovefromabove So sorry to hear the news about your brother - and your neighbour.
Hope the op can sort something out. Speaking of which, I'm a bit surprised Hostafan1 hasn't been posting yet, hope he's okay and recovering well from his op.

@Busy-Lizzie, I'm a little confused about this attestation business you are talking about - do you have to print a new one out everytime you go anywhere? What purpose does it serve? It'll be a b.....r if your printer won't print. The joys of technology!
Lovely rainbow @Fairygirl, it's been grey and wet here with clouds so low we couldn't even see the hill opposite.

Thanks @AuntyRach and everyone for your kind thoughts.

I have heard from @Hostafan1 ... think he’s feeling quite  ‘post-anaestheticky’ and his voice was very croaky when we spoke.  Hopefully he’ll be feeling better soon.
