I was thinking of all you lot in France when I heard the news last night, especially @Busy-Lizzie and @DOrdogne_Damsel. I'm afraid the English are to be forbidden entry to France so goodness knows what BL will do. Could you ask a friend in France to come and stay? It's been raining again this morning but is quite warm and we enjoyed our usual walk to the village. Got a SM delivery in a minute and he's bringing …….cake! Naughty but nice.
Sorry @Yviestevie, I missed your post. What a horrible experience for Merri and for all the family - you're certainly having more than your fair share of worries at the moment. Pleased to hear though that Gabriel is out of hospital.
As I said yesterday, the Cornish beach lifeguards are amazing ... I've just done my daily round of our favorite webcams ... the lifeguards and air ambulance have been busy on Porthmeor beach ... hope everyone's ok. The air ambulance has just left and the beach has been reopened ... folk are surfing again.
I don't think the weather conditions down in Cornwall or Devon are good enough for anybody to go into the sea this week, especially not children. I'm not surprised the emergency services have been involved again.
Sadly @Lizzie27 - people often take no notice of warnings about weather - or anything else, judging by this year. The rescue prog that just finished last weekend was excellent. Just hideous @Dovefromabove - that news report from France. ..and folk are moaning on the radio about not going out for Hallowe'en. Jeez.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I'm back from Leclerc. Roads were like rush hour and Leclerc was packed. But they still weren't keeping distances, it's never been like Norfolk was, here. People pushing and shoving with grim looks of determination and hardly any flour left. I didn't need flour, bought some last week. SM girls were stacking up lots of loo rolls so the shop was prepared for that. I bought supplies of food and stuff for 3 weeks so I won't need to go again for a while. When I've run out of fresh vegetables I will have frozen.
I think it is highly unlikely that OH will be able to get here for at least a month. Being on my own isn't so bad, I have a lot to keep me busy, it's being without OH for so long that upsets me.
This afternoon I'm going to sort out paperback books and take a load to the recycling. From tomorrow I will have to sign a form every time I go out.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The Porthmeor beach lifeguards have the flags out saying that surfing can take place in the narrow sectoropposite the surf school .at the far end of the beach from here
For some reason @Busy-Lizzie we queued in the loo roll aisle yesterday in Leclerc to get to the till, big mistake! what made me angry was a couple pushing in at the front of the queue and nobody said anything, the same thing happened in Gamm Vert last week, a chap tried to push his trolly in front of me but I wouldn't let him
We are still in Tier 1. From what I've heard, Halloween is going on round here, but with a twist. Children go out with their parents, and get a treat for every pumpkin or H decoration they spot in a window. Inventive way of keeping the fun going ...... coz a lot of people really enjoy it.
And please don't tell me how celebrating Halloween is a horrible imported American tradition, because I will ignore such comments.

They're usually pretty strict and very on the ball.
