None available here so I'll have another go at making them.  Anyone got a good recipe? Attempts so far have been a it heavy, but then I do use wholemeal flour.

I like this one ... try using half and half wholemeal and white bread flour.
I like a hot cross bun. I expect there's been a run on those too. Never made them. I expect I have most of the ingredients though. They've just been talking about the effect on businesses up here, on the Scottish news. Smaller hotels/pubs/restaurants, shellfish suppliers etc in places like beautiful Loch Fyne, and so on. These places rely on tourism. They aren't heavily populated, so the local support is limited anyway. This should be the start of the main tourist season too - Easter holidays in the next couple of weeks. I feel heart sorry for them. The only good thing is that all political parties seem to be pulling together.Â
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I have just washed down the inside and outside of the greenhouse, used a soft broom, Jeyes fluid solution and then hosed it down. It is positively sparkling, all ready for the tomato plants later. I swept the floors downstairs and vacuumed the rugs etc. Now I need a cuppa. I have so many jobs to be done I have no excuse not to do them, like painting the bedroom etc. Yawn, yawn. The dog thinks I am leaving home when I start doing housework and follows me everywhere. Have written 2 "thinking of you" cards for 2 of my clubs " at risk members".
Received a letter from my local garage offering a collect and delivery service for my car when its MOT and service is due. Brilliant. There are some advantages to being a wrinkly.
Yesterday we noticed a piece of the lead flashing had lifted in the latest high winds. The plumber popped back to do a "final" check on the boiler, he gave me the number of a roofer friend. Roofer came late lunchtime today and fixed it so all sorted- some things are still working then!
