We were supposed to be meeting friends in London tomorrow -cancelled We are supposed to be going to France in May -probably cancelled. Our trip to Japan- already cancelled. The last straw- went up the hill to yoga tonight- cancelled for foreseeable future- the teacher is well over 70. First world problems I know but just when it was our turn to be able to do what we wanted- ah well lots to do in garden & on Allotments if the rain will only stop for a week so it's dry enough to work the ground.
President Macron has just announced more stringent restrictions on movement except for essential travel to work and essential grocery shopping.Ā It seems people have not been too clever about social distancing and still attended markets and gatherings in numbers yesterday.Ā Ā As of midday tomorrow the EU/Schengen borders will be closed to all except returning residents and people are expected to stay at home and all family and social gatherings are banned for the next 15 days at least.
Need to take this seriously folks.Ā No-one has immunity.Ā We all must do our bit to stop it spreading because too many vulnerable people will suffer if we don't.Ā Ā Time to exercise some personal and civic responsibility.
We had a holiday booked for the end of May ... donāt sāpose thatāll happen now š¢. I wonder if they would just use the money to book the same week next year ... worth asking ... Iāll ring tomorrow.Ā
Iām so tired ... didnāt sleep too well last night ... Iāll snuggle under the duvet now ... night night all ... sweet dreams šĀ

Our flight has been cancelled, probably because of Macron's speech tonight. Returning resident, me, and others, can't return. OH has just re-booked for Saturday but that will probably be cancelled too.
Worried about the horses, will have to do a lot of phoning and emailing tomorrow. I hope there is food in the SMs as we had run it down before leaving so not a lot left.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Sorry to hear that you canāt return to France BusyL. I hope thereāll be a way around the type of problems, but as Obelixx said, everyone is affected.Ā
I staying on my 100 acre plot and not welcoming visitors. š
Good morning allĀ āļø āļø āļøĀ oh āeck @Busy-Lizzie ... you may be here for a while ((hugs)) Ā Good luck with getting the horses catered for ... horsey folk are usually very helpful so Iām sure itāll get sorted out. Ā

As for groceries @Busy-Lizzie ... yesterday we got a delivery slot for Friday with Morrisonās ... they seemed not as booked up as Sainsbugs.Ā
Son said he was in a Lidl in Ipswich centre yesterday (in quite an impoverished area) and had to step in to prevent a fight as a couple of women were emptying the shelves of eggs Ā ... a couple of staff were protesting but the women were authoritative well-heeled Landrover driving country-dwelling types who were insisting on taking the eggs ... other customers were getting angry ... son stepped in (heās a big bloke with a beard and a big voice) and told them not to be greedy ... the women protested that they ran B&Bs and needed to feed their guests.Ā
Son pointed out that the other customers needed to feed their families ....
A silence ensued .... and then most of the eggs were returned to the shelves and the women left.Ā

Morning all/afties Pat. Very kind of youĀ That's a pity @Busy-Lizzie, but possibly for the best.Ā I'm sure someone will step in re the horses for you.Can your children not chip in, or are they too far away? Hope you can get provisions here. I don't know why supermarkets aren't coming down harder on people trying to buy millions of items. There will always be the bottom feeders who try to play the system. I hope they're proud of themselves.Ā Daughter works in our local supermarket. They moved on from stockpiling pizza, and now it's pies. The verbal abuse some staff are getting is ridiculous. One was banging on about there being no milk. What do they expect the woman to say? 'oh hang on mate, I'll just nip out the back and ask Daisy if she can supply a few more gallons'... The hills will still be here @punkdoc. Mountain rescue were asking people to stick to known routes, and smaller hills too, just so it doesn't impact on them. I expect they'll be getting called on more frequently for other duties, bearing in mind that people like @AuntyRach will be at higher risk than many others.
Anyway - I'm watching the two wood pigeons having a stand off at the feeding table again. It's very entertaining. I love the way they put a wing up at right angles and stare each other out. Th epretender to the crown [or female pigeon] is getting a right earbashing. Bunfight at the OK Tearooms. [The Goodies I think?]
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
