    I've been watching a pair of Gt Tits busy around the blue tit nest box on the ash tree trunk ... one of them has been perched on the roof watching the other pecking away trying to enlarge the hole and repeatedly testing it out for size ... will they manage to make it the right size for them I wonder?  There is a proper Gt Tit nest box elsewhere in the garden, but it obviously is not a Des. Res.  :/

    That's beautiful @chicky, I'm deeply envious.  Are you going to do the Great Ocean Road, it's stupendous and the highlight of our trip. We stayed in a lovely place called Apollo Bay, absolutely magical - a log cabin with huge floor to ceiling windows, on a hillside overlooking the ocean, fresh breakfast bought to the door each morning, very few people around. Bliss!

    @Lizzie27 this is our second trip to Aus - we drove down the Great Ocean Road last time, and loved it (we stayed in Port Fairy - which always makes me smile @Fairygirl).

    This time it has been mostly Sydney (where littlest chicklet is living for a year) with forays to Tasmania and the Whitsundays.  Both jaw droppingly beautiful.  Will be very sad to be heading home soon â˜č  (But, fear not, we will be washing our hands every step of the way 😉)

    We loved Sydney as well and would have liked to spend more time there (only had a week). My son had spent 16 months backpacking/working  around Oz and I missed him so much we flew out to meet up with him and spent 4 weeks over there. I must admit the last 100 miles or so of the Great Ocean Road were incredibly boring though, nothing much to see for miles and miles. We only ever saw 2 wild kangeroos the whole time we were in Oz - I was most disappointed!

    You’ve got me playing guessing games, Chicky. At first sight I thought Narrabeen Lakes entrance, but now I’m not sure. I haven’t been there for many years - probably the late 1950s.  Do put me out of my misery. 😃

    im glad you’re having such a lovely holiday.

    Whitehaven beach - Hill inlet - in the Whitsunday Islands @Pat E.  Staggeringly beautiful.  Silica sands that were cool to walk on (despite 30 degree heat and blazing sunshine) and actually squeaked when you took a step.  Swam with stingrays and little sharks.  Then saw turtles and flying fish from the boat on the way home.  Still reeling 😀😀😀

    oh, thanks Chicky. Now I’ll be able to sleep without trying to puzzle it. Sound like a lot of fun.

    @chicky - what a place!! Dreamy.

    In more mundane news...currently washing my bathroom blind in the bath with Oxi-action stuff. It’s do or die, so worth a try. The fatal combo of a humid bathroom, north-facing, frugal heating upstairs and not having the windows open much this Winter - has given my blind some mildew spots. I can’t use bleach-based spray as the fabric has a pattern on. We will see...

    Hope everyone having a good day.

    P.s. I noticed that the SM was low on loo roll, antibacterial soap and pain killers... coincidence?? There was a sign in the household area to say it’s being refurbished but I wonder if people are panic-buying too?? (I will admit to buying a few extra tins etc. mind).
