Thanks @WonkyWomble - that's made my day - although I saw my own face on my laptop yesterday when trying to set up a Skype call with my daughter and was horrified!

@Lizzie27 -that's very difficult for you. At least you got some supplies recently. Hell mend 'em if they need anything then eh?
I'm hoping we [young fairylet and myself ] will be in the clear, and can go out by next Monday, and we should be reasonably ok until then. Paul's delivery isn't until the weekend, but it's very kind of him. I still can't get a delivery before the Tesco one mid April, but I can also ask my other neighbour across the road, who gave me some long life milk, to get a couple of things if necessary.
Glad you two are ok @Pat E. I don't think @punkdoc posted yesterday, but I could be wrong. It's hard enough when you're nearby and can't see a sick relative.  :(
On that topic - I forwarded the messages from forumites to Lily Pilly's hubby and he's very grateful. He was almost in the same position - a couple of days later and the care home would have been stopping access. I can't imagine how hideous that would have been for him, and everyone else in that position.
    The outside beckons...

    Hi all

MIL is still with us, but not well, not being able to visit is very hard on Moira and her siblings.
They all agreed yesterday, that the daily chat with the medical staff should be done by me, as we think this makes it easier for the doctor [ nice lad, sounds about 14 ] and for the brothers and sisters.

Moira has now joined the ranks of the great unemployed, but as I said to her, we are very lucky, we have my pension and no mortgage.

Stay well and much as it pains me to say it, do what Boris says.

Sorry Pat, I didn't see your post.  Your not wrong! Having a bit of space outside is a godsend at the moment! I feel sorry for anyone that doesn't have access to a little piece of the outside for their own! Even if my garden is small, it has kept me sane!

Lizzie27, never ever huge your appearance by Web cam!! It good for morale!

Pdoc, love to all your family and best wishes.

Morning Hosta, gonna try and post your plant sometime this week. I'll let you know when to look out for it.

    Morning all!

Chilterns are snowed under with seed orders so aren't accepting mine for the mo.  Pity... I'd just worked out a scheme for growing runner beans in the front garden, up the spare bit of concrete-reinforcing mesh left by the builders.  But the florist in the town sells a few seeds so I'll give her a ring.

Glad you've got a lovely big area to walk in, @Pat E .  You'll be fit as a flea by the time we're through...

Neighbours are so important... @Lizzie27 , it's a real shame yours haven't cottoned on that you might need something.  Is there no support group locally, providing help for the vulnerable?  It could be worth looking on Facebook for a local forum and making enquiries, perhaps?

@Fairygirl - sounds as if your neighbours are the right sort... fingers crossed that you and young Fairylet will be off the hook come Monday.

Thinking of you, @punkdoc and Moira.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Morning all.
It was the funeral this morning of the man in our street who died last week. He was a pillar of this village and church warden. Family only but the hearse drove slowly down the street so everyone could wave him goodbye. A lot of people on the pavements but all keeping their distance. It wasn't the virus that killed him.

A nice local man is shopping for NDN and he asked if we wanted anything. He is getting me a loaf of fresh bread. The rest I can do online with Morrisons. I have a home delivery booked for 19th April, 2 weeks after the click and collect on the 5th.

I've finished sewing ties on the cushions. Bit tricky turning them the right way round with my arthritic fingers, used a chop stick and the fish boning tweezers.

Came in for some lunch, and someone's stolen the sun. I feel an Elton John hissy fit approaching  ;)
@punkdoc - it's heartbreaking for Moira and her sisters. As I said earlier when talking about Lily P's hubby, at least the shutdown came just after her death. Horrible to be in that position you're in now. I know it's small comfort, or none at all, but I'm sure every one here is thinking of you all.
My seeds have just arrived from Plants of Distinction @Liriodendron. I didn't have my specs on and I thought it said Pants of Distinction. I wonder if that's where Liz, and Phil the Greek, get their undies....
Never used them before and it's just some of the creamy nasturtiums, and some Ammi, but might be worth a try? No idea if they'll be any good, but they were very prompt. I've got some sweet peas coming too, from Johnson's Sweet Peas. Not used them before either.
I'm a wumman that likes living on the edge..... ;)

Sunny here now but too flipping windy to go out and play.  It is perishing - snow in bits of the Vendée!! - and the wind is so strong it kept me awake most of the night whistling and howling round the house and sucking at the shutters.  Took me a while to work out what that noise was as it's usually masked by heavy rain when the wind's like this.   Not feeling too bright then but thankful that we OK and I have warmth and shelter and enough food and each other, plus the critters to entertain us.

Proper virtual hugs for Moira and @punkdoc just now and for anyone else with relatives they're worried about but can't visit.

I hope you and the Fairylets are OK @Fairygirl and you and your chicklets and your pa too @chicky.    Can't be fun for littlest but at least she's close by.

Great that you and OH can get out and about in safety @Pat E

Stay safe and well Forkers, especially people like @AuntyRach who are on the frontline and all the other essential workers helping us all thru this.
