@Dovefromabove Thank you so much for bringing that to our notice on Resurrected. 2020
seems to have had very difficult starts for many of our forum friends and I'm still stunned from the loss of our lovely friend Joyce. Whilst not knowing Lily Pilly, having lost my beloved Mum to dementia I would just like, through you or @Obelixx, to pass on kind thoughts to her family.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Not been posting here on Forkers since pre Christmas, but I just wanted to say if anyone wants to PM re Lilly Pilly, I will make a point of checking. It's not been a great start to the year for Scottish forum members, so I'm feeling a bit lonely up here.Â
I think @Pat E's little anecdote is exactly the sort of thing required.Â
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Sad news indeed about Lilly Pilly didn't realise she had been so poorly as I hadn't been around for a while. Please pass on my best wishes.
Been hard at work in the garden today. The two large conifers came down yesterday and despite their best efforts the surgeon's made quite a mess in the garden. They did most of the clearing up but we have been out their today clearing up the bed at the top of the garden. I've also weeded half the borders and pruned half the roses. Much to Hubby's amusement I triped over a pot and fell backwards onto the lawn. Luckily it was a fairly soft landing but I suspect I'm going to have a few aches and pains tomorrow. We have decided that we need to get a man with a van to take away all the prunings etc as our green bin doesn't get emptied until some time in April.Â
We also had a man come today to repoint the top three layers of bricks on the apex of the house as we had a leak. All in all a very busy morning. Relaxing now with a cuppa.Â
On a positive note, we've just come back from seeing Hubby's surgeon. Not only was she more than happy to shake hands with us both, but she's given Hubby the all clear. No more cancer, no more colostomy bag, no more dressing changes. It's ALL over. Have I ever said I LOVE THE NHS?Â
Hello Forkers🙂 Many thanks to Dove for letting me know about Lily P. She and I exchanged a few PM's - mainly on the subject of box blight. She had a beautiful garden and we shared the agonies of watching beautifully trimmed box hedging (important structures in our garden designs) succumb to the menace of blight. About the time Monty was also bemoaning the loss of the structures in his garden as well. Must have been a bad year for it.
Best wishes to you Lily P. I hope you're safe and comfortable in your new surroundings.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Thanks to everyone for their comments for Lily Pilly and yes, @Pat E and Topbird have offered just the kind of anecdote needed to help her husband stimulate her memory.
It is sad news and I do hope her own therapy dog is allowed to visit.Â
