It's hideously expensive to take cash out on a credit card though.
    Glad you got a result @Hostafan1 :)
I'd echo @Obelixx's post - we all need to concentrate on the good things for now, if we can.
There was an item last night on the news about a care home in Renfrewshire, and they were doing videos of all their activities with the residents. The families could then go online and see what they were doing. It was superb. I got a bit teary.
The staff in these places have a hard time in the best circumstances, never mind just now, and we only ever hear about the terrible ones. I take off all my hats to them.

Prison service too. Who would want that sh***y job? I think they're the forgotten public service.
As for the pillocks who are still defying the advice. The fines are too lenient. £30, and £60 if not paid in 28 days? What's that about. Start at £500 and then maybe they'd think twice. There's a shower of them been fined up here.
We should start a poll - what could we call a bunch of public safety defiers?
    A cess pit perhaps?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Just got back in from a session in the garden.  Planted my camellia and rose, deadheaded the early daffs and watered all the pots which were bone dry.  Just found out no green bin collection at the moment so we have loads piling up, never mind it's only a minor inconvenience in the scheme of things.
We have a number of family birthdays coming up, Son in Law's is tomorow, he was supposed to be going on a Bear Grylls thing with his brother.  Jonah's 4th birthday is in a couple of weeks and he was having a party which he keeps asking his mum about.  It's the first time he's been bothered and he's too young to understand the current problems.  It's also Merri's birthday and she her main present was tickets to the Harry Potter musical which is now cancelled.  She's older and can understand the situation but is still a bit disappointed.

Obelixx, my daughter is thinking about asking his mates to drive around the back of the flat in their cars and call out happy birthday to him. Could be a good surprise for him.

    bedtime now. Night all.

We've also got forthcoming family birthday's, I expect lots of families will be similarly affected. My daughter's big five-o is end of April but we've had to cancel the holiday house I'd booked for a long weekend.  It's very disappointing for her, especially as she's clinically depressed at the moment, so not good.

Been to my branch to bank my Premium Bond winnings, Banked Hubby's cheque via the post office  and no queue at either.

You can have premium bond winnings paid direct to your bank account. Maybe not as exciting as a cheque landing on the doorstep, but if you win quite often it might be worth considering, at least temporarily.

My DIL's birthday was yesterday, 1yr old granddaughter tomorrow, daughter's was the 21st and SIL and grandson on the 21st and 22nd April. They were meant to be coming to stay with us in our Norfolk cottage during French school holidays for a week from the 20th April then son was coming with his OH and 4 children the week after. I'd given my daughter the money for the plane tickets for her 40th birthday this year and we were going to have a birthday lunch for SIL and grandson in the fish restaurant at Southwold harbour. We'd booked to visit Sandringham with son's family. All cancelled, but at least it isn't life and death.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

It's so disappointing though, isn't it @Busy-Lizzie. I'm just wondering now whether I could find a musician to serenade her outside her house on the day! Would that count as going out to work?!!!

Just posted this on the RTBC thread but it might reach more people on here. if you're on Facebook do see if you can watch a short musical video from the Marsh (Ben and Danielle) family which is going viral - it's hilarious, all about the lockdown!

    Evening.

After a bonkers day, the cartoon has made me smile @punkdoc. My sort of humour!

I hope you are all well.
