You don't expect the entitled to go without their 'organic kwinoa' do you?  :/

I laughed last week when the box on top of the first cage to come off our lorry on Sunday morning was asparagus. " All is well with the world, we have asparagus "

@Hostafan1 I used to laugh at that list of Waitrose 'essentials' when one of them was 'lavender ironing water' or some such nonsense.

I said to the girls 'essentials ironing water. Or -  as it's called here,  water '

Um ... small rural producers rely on sales at farmers’ markets ... some of the customers may be among the ‘entitled’ set, but for  the specialist livestock producers, cheese makers, egg producers,  bakers and market gardeners the markets right now are the difference between just about making a living and bankruptcy.  They don’t have the cushion of years of profits to fall back on that the supermarkets have ... and when they go home after getting up even earlier than the rest of us and working their stall all day they’ll still have to milk the cows, feed the pigs etc.

The farmers’ markets aren’t staying open so the entitled can stick up on quinoa ... theyre open so the stall holders can pay their feed bills and don’t have to slaughter their animals because they can’t sell their produce.

Same with asparagus around here ... most small farmers on suitable soil grow a few acres ... they’re up at dawn cutting and packing it. It helps pay the bills.

For the few things g thhat get ironed in this house I use Wrose ironing water ... if you live in a hard water area like this one the alternative is buying a new steam iron every eighteen months.

Ipswich has the hardest water in the country apparently Dove so I find it best to only use the iron for special occasions!  ;)

    What ironing? :D

You don't have guid Scottish water @Dovefromabove. Marvellous stuff - no kettle descaling or any of that malarkey  ;)
We've had everything here today weatherwise, apart from the wintery showers. Sky was jet black later on with those dark clouds, but they've fallen on someone else.

I was doing the dinner earlier, and I can see along the road to the front bit of 'him across the back's ' garden. He's standing a few feet from the fence, chatting to a couple for at least fifteen/twenty minutes, and one of them was holding a baby.
What don't these people get about keeping away from each other?  :/

I don’t think ours is much different @WonkyWomble ... in fact it’s harder here ... ours is 276 ppm and yours is only 201.

Fairy it begs belief doesn't it! I've had to do some shopping for elderly garden customers today.  I waited until dinner time hoping other people would be at home and wore  my mask, gel and gloves and off I went.  I was pleasantly surprised that people were complying!
Dove, just cus you have harder water doesn't mean I'm going to start ironing any time soon!
