Thanks @Lizzie27, I have asked the home about that, sadly they were less than forthcoming.

Letter then.Ā  You have time and she can read and re-read and you can send photos too.Ā  Much longer lasting than a Skype.

Hi folks, We can't visit mum in her care home @punkdoc so we have been writing letters she is loving it and the carers are helping her to write back.Ā  Secondborn is making a small photo album of the boys and sending that too.Ā  I was listening to the news and they were talking about PPE not getting through to the front line.Ā  It starting me thinking that if they had a way to steralise the PPE they already have it wouldn't be a problem.Ā  UV light is supposed to kill the virus, it would solve a problem if they could find a way to do it and think of all the plastic that wouldn't go to landfil.Ā
Just had a camellia and rose delivered from Ashwoods, the weather is looking promising so I might get out there and do a bit of planting.
    Hope everyone stays safe.

We found letters and picture postcards helped my Aged Ps when we were unable to visit ... Ma kept them all in her doughty red handbag and took them out to read and re-read for ages afterwards ... don't put anything too personal in them, they may be read out in the day room to an avid audience!Ā  :open_mouth:

I know that my elderly aunt is also unable to have visitors in her care home, so am trying to send a picture postcard once a week (I have a stash) just so that she knows that the East Anglian branch of her extended family are still alive and kicking.Ā

    Morning all.Ā
    Hugs to @punkdoc.
I have a dilemma: I've a cheque to go into Hubby's bank, he's got no income, but the nearest bank is 10 miles away! Am I allowed to drive to the bank?
Our bank is miles away, I send all our cheques to Bideford, you can download and print off a form, Ā that’s if you do online banking, Ā if not you may have a paying in slip in the back of your book. Ā
I don’t use the main head office, they take too long to process it, but the local branch will put it through straight away. You can’t risk OH health by driving in, I wouldn’t anyway.

After writing all that, I see you can photo the cheque direct to the bank, I didn’t know that.

Our Grandson will be 21 on 4 April. There was a big party booked for him at the Irish Club, but of course it’s been cancelled. My daughter said he’s feeling very down about it. There’s not much choice. 😭

Ā It's my birthday Saturday too and im already stir crazy and can't even order plants as I'm one of the five per cent self employed that haven't been looked after. Ā Just happy that my health and those i care about are OK. Still not a great time to have a birthday! Think I'll be singing cr**py Ā birthday to me...

@Pat E - tell him to plan a mega post virus joint bash with all his pals who'll have missed celebrating during this period.Ā  He should also concentrate on the fact that he's alive and well and what else is good at the mo.Ā Ā
