Chicky, Im so pleased she’s safely home. I’ve been wondering how she is.
Our son’s uni course is on hold as well.

Interesting that Bojo is now positive. Just like Prince Charles and the Monaco prince as well. We have one of our parliamentarians off as well.

So pleased you have everyone back together Chicky! Even if it's in separate nests for the time being!

Good news @chicky and a relief all round I should think.   Have to agree with @Fairygirl about people staying close to home and not risking taking bugs to the country where NHS resources are thin on the ground, things like shopping and SM deliveries are more problematical and essential work is being done to keep the food chain supplied.

When OH came back in for lunch I told him Bojo had tested positive and he said "yes, he came to see me down the potager" - thought I was talking about Bonzo dog.  I always suspected his ears speak a different language.

@chicky ... ((huge hugs)) what a relief  :D  ... I can't imagine what you've been feeling.  It's hard enough with my tribe being down in Suffolk ... at least they've got each other all under one roof ...  actually it's @WonkyWomble's birthday next Saturday ... we'll all have to have a virtual party and virtual cake and pop to cheer ourselves up  🎉🎈 🎂 🍾

I thought that - BUT - from the police's and general control perspective there are multiple issues.

Cars have accidents (well, not the cars exactly) and break down.
More travel, more fill ups at garages.
Destination may have a crowded car park and the walk may also be busy.
Police have to believe what you're saying and what your destination is.
More things you are likely to touch that others will also touch.

So sensibly, the less driving (and the fewer things you touch outside of your safe environment), the less chance of any of the above - AND if everybody adhered to that it would stop having to have police policing it. But as we know,  not everyone is sensible (as proven by the photos of the people on the hills and at the seaside over the past few days) - so although YOU may drive for a quiet walk, others are driving to crowded tourist destinations. The police can't tell the difference can they?  Don't drive unless you have to.

Let's not forget either that if you or your loved ones do end up having to be taken to hospital they will go alone with no-one they know or love able to visit them.  They will be isolated at all times and if very unlucky, will die alone and unhugged.

Not worth the risk of either transmitting it or bringing it home or wasting valuable emergency services on avoidable problems.

All valid points - and I wish it was being expressed that way.  Instead it is coming across as “how dare these townies make use of my countryside”.  Which I think is a bit much.  Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely privileged to live where I can go for endless walks from my front door, no need to use the car.  Just feel very sorry for those who don’t have that as an option.

Very, very relieved to have her home.  The last week has been sleepless (often because we were up booking flights or trying to sort things out in Australian time) and pretty fraught.  What am I going to worry about now 🤔 ......suggestions on a postcard please 😳

Chicky, I totally understand your comment about going out to be alone and exercise.  Living in a town myself I can relate.  I'm taking my exercise when I go out to deliver food shopping to elderly and don't go out other than that.  I have raging cabin fever! Long for open spaces! But on the plus side, my green house is full of seedlings..... things to worry about Chicky? Try slugs and snails! X

@chicky ... you can worry about vine weevils for us too ... OH loved his big Glowing Embers begonia that spent the summers on the terrace outside the big sliding glass wall of the studio ... but today we found it hollowed out by vine weevil grubs 😡 I've told him he'll have to grow nasturtiums in that pot if he wants orange outside the window this summer.
