Tree surgeons are a few door down from me today. There are a few 100F pines left in the street and they are being noisily worked on - not sure if being trimmed safe or being felled. It is quite sad if they are going - they are a wildlife haven. The ones that bordered my garden were removed a few years ago. The negative was a change in scenery and habitat for my garden and the positive was a bit more light, and presumably nutrients.
Day off off today so really enjoying being able to go outside (in the garden only, of course), even hanging washing out is a joy. Be careful everyone doing gardening or DIY - you don’t want to have to go to A&E with a sliced finger or broken foot.
Brrr! The sun's gone over the house and the terrace is in shade .... I've been sent indoors to look after my sinuses and the cough I've had since Christmas ... but the baby cannas @WonkyWomble gave me for my birthday have been potted up and OH has weeded, raked and edged the herb bed. He's going to plant some pulmonaria Trevi Fountain in the damp end of the herb bed next to the mint as the other herbs don't like that spot and we have to put them somewhere

Hello all. It's a lovely sunny day, 12° but warm in the sun. I've been gardening without a coat. Started weeding the borders and cutting the edges. I found a hedgehog poo by the summerhouse! First one I've seen here.
Hi folks, It's been a beautiful day here. Have only just come in from the garden. Emptied and cleaned greenhouse inside and out ready for plug plants which are scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Hubby has finished painting the last two fence panels and they have been slotted into place. All of the seedlings are growing well, will have more to pot on shortly. Every year I say I've sown too many, this year is no exception, I never learn.
@Yviestevie- I've become quite good at sowing less over the years, but it's difficult! I'd hoped to do some today, but it's been pretty miserable and smirry most of the day, and I don't have the shed set up yet. Got a couple of things done though, and been idle the rest of the day. I made flapjacks though.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Fairygirl I always sow extra in case they don't germinate but they always seem to. If I get too many I give them away to my bestie who doesn't have a greenhouse.

Lovely NDN has given me some dwarf bearded irises. I think, from her description that they are www.bethchatto.co.uk/plants-for-dry-conditions/iris-green-spot.htm
I trust everybody is keeping safe
