DS FaceTimed me for Mothering Sunday ... I suspect being drowsy on the sofa after a roast dinner and a couple of vinos wasn’t a good look 🙄 😆

Im to bed now ... the fence man arrives at 8 in the morning ... 🥱

Night night all ... sweet dreams ...

    Cheers @Fairygirl ... you’d better put the kettle on too ... I’ll need plenty of ☕️ 😉

We saw a lovely Mothers Day gathering earlier - 4 couples in deck chairs spaced about 10 foot apart from each other on the local recreation ground - all shouting to each other 😀😀😀

We managed to get a walk in this afternoon,  and only met 2 others in the hour we were out 👍🏻.  Beautiful spring day

The littlest chicklet saga continues ....flip flop doesn’t really do it justice.  flight home now booked for Thursday, but now hearing planes may be grounded before then.  If she gets home we have arranged to borrow next doors granny annex so she can self isolate for 14 days without getting near to Mr C.  But at least she will be next door, and I can chat to her through a window.

And to cap it all my Dad, whose brain tumours have left him amazingly symptom free since early January, has now started having “episodes”.

I’m glad hear your news Chicky. I hope she gets home soon. Sorry your Dad is slipping. Always a worry.

I’ve moved all my kitchen herb pots onto the sunny veranda, so that they hopefully survive a bit longer this winter. I need to keep the limited food tasty.

  • Good morning all.  :) Beautiful day here.

  • I spent all day in the garden yesterday, half sitting, half weeding, it was lovely. At one point I had to go out to collect something from an empty office and was stopped by the gendarmes for my piece of paper. I wasn't happy about him touching my passport and paper with his latex gloves and wondered how many more people had been touched with the same glove. Anyway, I smiled nicely and took it back off him with the tips of my fingers and scrubbed everything on my return, hands, steering wheel window and door handles....I don't suppose he had seen many people, it was like a ghost town,  and the virus hasn't reached our town at all yet, so hopefully all ok. I think I might sellotape it to the window next time though.

Gardening again today and a rallying e-mail to the staff to be written, I want to reassure them that as soon as this is over we have a plan for recovery and their jobs will be safe, I will at least do my upmost to make it that way anyway.

I did have a long chat with a UK friend who is a police officer, she is very concerned about working in this environment, big shortage of PPE, one mask per patrol car and that is for anyone arrested, not the officers, she says they get spat on during most arrests, bad enough normally....she is very worried. Also worried people are not taking it seriously at all.

I am just so relieved to be in the middle of nowhere with a garden I can play in all day and a freezer full of cake.

Congratulations Hostafan too, finally. I hope mother and baby doing well, have we got a name yet?

Please all of you take care, stay safe and keep your distance.  :)
