That's a very sensible idea. Supporting local independent traders and social distance far more likely! Not to mention better food! I've been planning where I'm going to put my veg in my little garden full of flowers. I've decided that as i can't get the bits to fix the pergola right now, the props of a five foot crow bar and forks driven into the ground, will have to stay there. So the courgettes are going in front of that with sweet peas growing up the pergola to encourage the bees to visit the courgettes more. Sweet peas should hide the improvised pergola supports. Now I've written it down here in can remind myself when I've forgotten!
Morning al/afties Pat. Hope you get some much needed rain soon. Think we have some heading our way from Wednesday. Pity I can't redirect a bit. Our soil is just about starting to dry out a bit now. The wind has helped. @chicky - all about placing Silly girl - should just have bought white hydrangeas....will you have a right good swear at them if they don't comply? I had a lovely day outside yesterday once it warmed up a bit. Sun came out properly my late morning, and the wind dropped a bit, so I got seeds done, and lots of little faffy jobs. I'm surprised Chilterns are still delivering, as so many aren't, but seeds are easier than plants, so that's good. I've had a couple of packets of things, but I still have lots left from last year. Spoke to my neighbour further along - across our fences - and he said if we run out of anything, he has a regular food delivery still in place if we want to add on to it. He'd been confined for a couple of weeks, but his wife is now showing symptoms so she was indoors in bed. They have two little girls, so it's difficult for them. He can work from home though. He's a nice chap.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hi everyone. Lovely to keep in touch with you all. Has anyone heard how Punkdoc’s MIL is getting on? I keep thinking about them. It must be horrible not to be able to visit.
Hubby is keeping me amused with lots of online funnies. The latest one was a sort of Beatles one of the four of them supposedly singing a version of “I want to hold (wash) your hand. Very clever.
Wonky we are so glad that we have the freedom to walk all over the property without meeting anyone. (And it’s not long ago since I was saying to Hubby that it’s not good to be so isolated with my age and his illness). Count your blessings, aye?
Tonight we had flat bread wrapped around boiled egg and salad. Very tasty.😜
We are thinking that we might be able to survive for a month without going to the shop for new food. It’ll be interesting to see how we go. 🙄
Morning Fairy sounds like a good productive day you had there yesterday! Sorry your neighbour isn't well but glad they are able to get everything needed and self isolate! Haha I was just going to say how peaceful it is sat out in the garden with my second coffee. No mechanics laughing and banging from the garage next door, no shouting neighbors, traffic or planes....but neighbour out the back has just started up the lawn mower! wont take them long. Sold most of the land for developing years ago! Yup.... hes stopped! Birds song and I can actually hear my pond water feature... first time ever!
I'm surprised none of our neighbours have offered to do any shopping for us. I say neighbours but they're not really near to us because of our large garden. We don't see any of them regularly except at a distance but we do chat very occasionally if I'm working near the boundaries. It could well be that either they don't like us or that they think we're under 70!

Were going to get our shopping from the farm shop this afternoon.
