Been studying plant porn and finally decided on a couple of plants for the new bed at the top of the garden.  I've ordered camellia Silver Anniversary and rose Ghislaine de Feligonde.  I could do with a bag of ericaceous compost but not sure how to get my hands on some at the moment. Planting the camellia and moving the rhododendron might have to wait.  If it's not too cold tomorrow I have some Daffs that need deadheading. @Songbird-1 I have been promising myself a blackout blind for my bedroom for a few years now but never seem to get it sorted.

    Hello all.

Lovely bright day here but very cold - got some more weeding done though.  I need some veg seeds; I have a feeling Chilterns will send to Ireland...   :)  We don't have a veg bed yet, and I was intending to wait until we were builder-free (because they keep driving machinery over unexpected bits of garden), but OH has requested sugar peas.  And strawberries...

We have an unusual garden ornament at present.

Don't know how long it'll have to stay, could be weeks and weeks...  but at the moment the bucket is full of rain water, so it's providing a large bath for the birds.  A magpie used it this morning.   :)

Chilterns deliver here in France @Liriodendron.   I just stocked up on veggie seeds I can't get here - cavolo nero, purple sprouting etc.

@Yviestevie my daughter has Ghislaine de Féligond. It's so lovely I bought one from Peter Beales for the Norfolk cottage last year. It's just grown a load of new leaves.

Love the garden sculpture @Liriodendron .......its all about placing 🤣

Had a lovely day snipping back old flower heads on my hydrangeas.  Very absorbing - just the job.  I was singing to them whilst I worked away ....”grow back blue, grow back blue”.  They were bought as deep blue varieties to suit our acid soil, only I planted them in a new bed that was filled with imported topsoil.  So they have bloomed disappointingly pink for 4 years.  But last year one was half pink and half purple - think its roots must have hit native stuff.  Hoping that the transformation will continue this year......along with a bit of lyrical encouragement from me 🎶🎵🎶💙💜💙

    Well done Chicky.
Lovely dat here today. My daughter got 50 mm rain overnight in Canberra, we got 6mm.🤬

still, better than nothing I suppose. We took ourselves out for a constitutional this morning - 27 degrees and nice gentle breeze.  More steps on the watch. 👏
