Very sad news re Lilly Pilly.  It occurred to me just the other week that apparently there's no means of knowing what has happened to posters who suddenly stop. Would an Obit or ill-health thread be a possibility perhaps?

More cheerful news from Hosta though - what a relief that must be!

Thank you @Ladybird4 , @Topbird and everyone ... we'll make sure all messages are passed on.
As you say, there's a lot of sadness about at the moment.

So, it's really really wonderful to hear your such very good news @Hostafan1 ... huge hugs to both of you xx

@Lizzie27 ... I think the difficulty of a special thread for such news is that many posters have not given their OHs instructions on how to access the forum etc ... if it hadn't been for @Obelixx having already had LilyP's address and, being concerned at her absence, wrote to her and her husband, we would still be unaware of her recent health problem.

Maybe we should all make note and make sure there are contact details for our OH or family to contact someone on the forum should we be unable to pass on our news ourselves.

It is sad when regular friends just disappear ... we miss them and worry a bit.

I would think that it should be possible for family members to log in just once as a Guest maybe to post a short note.  You can do it as guest to order stuff online so it can't be too difficult.

What happens on Facebook I wonder?

Well yes, but some folks just don't know/understand about the relationships on here and don't realise that we really care ... and of course, they are dealing with the anxiety, grief etc ... to them we're just strangers on a message board.

In this case LP's husband is not computer savvy and had been wondering how to contact her friends on here so was delighted to receive my card asking after her health.  I suspect also that, as Dove says, he's had other things to worry about and manage over the last few months so it's great for him that people here can co-ordinate the passing on of messages.

Hmmm - apparently my OH secretly registered with the GW forum 'specially so he could post "Stop nattering and cook my dinner, woman!" on an appropriate day.🤨

He never had the courage to actually do it though. Phrases along the lines of "You'd be wearing it" may have been exchanged😁
