  • @AnniD,..ah so there were a lot of Ferry Cancellations,..i expect that's the reason Amazon didn't make the delivery,..i wish they had communicated in some way seeing they have my email address,..now i presume i will have to wait until next Friday or Saturday for delivery,..i won't be waiting in next time lol.

Oh the sponges on the greenhouse worked perfectly,.. only the reduced noise was in case my neighbour was being disturbed as it was loud.

I don't believe my Hedgehog does see me or Whisper as Hedgehogs are reputed to have poor eyesight,..not too sure about their sense of smell,

Rats,..one spotted at your Mothers and then at the friend of @Valley Gardener,..i never liked rats but only from the disease humans can get from them,..Mice never bother me at all though i never see any about in my garden,..perhaps 'Whisper' is a Mouser lol.

  • @Valley Gardener,..so you have visited the Doctor,..fingers crossed all will be well and soon as i know you are longing to get out into the garden,..but restrain yourself and give the medication a chance to act.

You had the same cold air as we had here,..its a surprise to see ones breath at just 2 days to go before Summer begins.

Just looking at the image you posted of 'Tarw',..that is one serious expression,..a good Ratter is worth its weight in gold,..brings home the evidence to prove its worth,..'Miss Stiggy',..relaxed and claimed the prize location,..you are well acquainted with the sleeping locations of Cats,..its weird,..no point in making a comfortable bed for one as they may use it for a short spell then its off to try another and another lol,..'Cush',.is a beauty,..they are very lucky that you rescued them after they were dumped,..i am a sucker for taking in stray Cats,..or feeding begging Cats,..they seem to know this.

Ferns are fantastic to give that natural look to a garden,..all of mine are wild Ferns and come up everywhere in particular the Harts Tongue,..i suppose i should call it my weed,..though i tend to keep a lot of them,..some for years,..the oldest is approx 10 years plus.

This is the oldest,..i help it to improve every year by cutting off the old growth,..as you can see its just starting to show its new growth.

  • @Purplerain,..you really were lucky with the weather missing out on that storm,..though heavy rain can flatten plants nearly as bad,..i often watched mine being destroyed with a very heavy downfall.

Those tall pots are made great use of,..sometimes i have strongly scented plants in them seeing the plant would be nearer to nose level,..now of course its the Ferns,..they are in small pots which sit perfectly on top of the tall pot.

There are two Companies in the UK that sell Organic Rooting Powder,

www.doff.co.uk and www.william-sinclair.co.uk  the latter one states Children and Pets need not be excluded from treated areas,..i have both of these in house just now.

Oh @Valley Gardener will have words with you over wearing slippers in the garden lol.

Scottish Deerhounds,..i was told politely when i called them Irish Wolfhounds.

  • @Fran IOM,..you are lucky with Amazon deliveries being there when they call and that's a good thing that Royal Mail knows about the outside door,..i really hate having to wait for a delivery as i was let down so often over the years,..not with Amazon as its the first time i used them.

Nothing badly damaged due to the storm and the high winds afterwards,..my Parsley was flattened but recovered today.

    Mint wasn't even bent over.

    Lemon Balm,..strong as a Horse.

You sat its too wet to go walkies?,.....yea i believe you!.

    Good Morning all.
Looks like I am the first to post this morning if you don't count the fact that Philip posted after midnight. Possibly by the time I have finished there could be other posts which have beaten me to it.
Yesterday was a very disappointing day for weather. Managed half an hour's weeding before the rain started. Thought it would be a shower so waited in the shed for it to stop but sadly it didn't so had to put everything away. Today's forecast is much more promising. So easy to weed with the ground being so wet. Fortunately no damage from the strong winds.
@Purplerain  You were very lucky with your weather yesterday. Still haven't dug up my Fatsia so no space showing yet. I will also have another space soon as after reading a thread yesterday one plant which really annoyed me and had taken over is Russian Vine. Did fill a space (large one) and looked quite nice but now it's number is up. The new email from SGC should arrive very soon.
@AnniD. £10 free postage and maybe a code on the SGC thread? Could be tempted. As I said above there will be another large space available soon. You must be pleased to have hedgehog back again but still no sign of Mouse?
@Valley Gardener. Miss Stiggy is beautiful. So good to be able to give abandoned cats a good home. It was like that in Singapore with kittens being dumped on the Brits. Do hope the medication is beginning to kick in and you are feeling the benefits.
@nultyphilip224  Hope your Amazon delivery arrives today. Nothing worse than having to wait in for something that doesn't arrive. I take it those Irish Wolfhounds belonged to a friend. Sorry Scottish Deerhounds. Such big dogs. Imagine them running around your garden. Your ferns look so healthy. I have quite a few and after cutting off last years leaves you can see the new ones furled up ready to come up. One plant I don't seem to be able to grow on the allotment is Choiysa. Have tried with about three but they never amount to anything and fade away. Even if I had a phone to take photos I don't know whether I would be able to get them on here. You all seem to have no trouble at all. Trust me to be the one behind the times. How old is Foxy Molly now? She looks in very good condition bless her.

No one seems to have beaten me to another post yet so will now get on with other things to enable more time for gardening.

Have a good day all with fine weather hopefully.

Good morning everyone. Weather is warm and still, perfect for the garden, but I'm afraid it's duster morning. I must be strong willed and finish ☹️.

@nultyphilip224 I am with you on the Irish Wolfhounds. Us Scots have a habit of saying we invented everything but I think it is going a bit far to call an Irish Wolfhound a Scottish Deerhound 😀. Your herbs look great all green and healthy. Foxy Molly is certainly telling you to get your coat on. I did buy that organic rooting powder so we will see how it goes. I don't normally use any and things seem to take most of the time.

@AnniD thanks for the tip about the camera. I took a look, but I only have an Ipad with no USB so will just enjoy yours instead. So funny when your OH said a plane could land in your garden with all your solar lights. The ones I have look like orange flames when they come on. I bought one in Aldi for 9.99 then saw the same ones in a GC for 24.99!! Of course I went back for another. Then I decided 3 would be nice but Aldi were sold out. Managed to get one in the now reopened Homebase.

@Fran IOM you beat us all to it this morning. I noticed that you and Anni have confessed on the plant buying thread. None of that applies to me though lol as I am still in denial. I had better get on with housework or I will never see the garden today.

    Take care all.

@Fran IOM,..good morning,..surprise surprise me posting early in the day,..not too sure what the weather is going to be as yet but watching carefully how the clouds are and in which direction they are coming and going,..sometimes i do listen to the weather forecast,..only sumtimes.

Alas no deliver from Amazon,..no email either,..looks like i may have to contact them.

Those Irish Wolfhounds are owned by a friend,..they were friendly enough but its the size that makes one cautious,..i don't mean vicious or indicating anything like that,..just the sheer size,..we went for a stroll and let the dogs off the leads,..then they took a run away from us and started running back with no sign of slowing down,..at the last second they would swerve away avoiding a collision,..now that made me nervous and i tend not to be bothered,..if one of those dogs ran into a person at full speed boy were you in trouble.

Those 'Choisya' are a beautiful shrub,..scent wise and foliage wise,..i have to admit i know nothing at all about them but must make myself familiar with them.

Must be a Bank Holiday or something here,..not a sound from any direction,..no cars passing either,..mmmmmm must turn on the News as i tend to be the last one to know when there is something amiss.

    Good morning everyone  :)
@nultyphilip224 love the expression on Foxy Molly's face  "You are not fooling me". Those Scottish deerhounds are real beauties.
Your herbs are so healthy,  mine always seem to get nibbled by something  - not the dreaded vine weevil though (l don't think).
@Fran IOM No sign of Mouse, a hedgehog turned up last night, but seemed a thinner one than Hedgehog,  also l think someone had marked "him" for id purposes. He is probably so thin because he didn't touch the food, didn't even go in the restaurant. Needless to say l had opened a brand new tin of dog food, so last night's serving has gone in the bin. Don't tell Foxy Molly.
I woke up in the middle of the night with a Hedgehog and Mouse short story going through my head, it had drama but a happy ending. I shall have to give it a bit more thought.
@Purplerain l admire your dedication to the duster usage in spite of the better weather, l couldn't do that. "Gardening forever, housework whenever" is my motto. I am meeting the friend who bought me that plaque for lunch today, so l am avoiding the garden until later. I need to box the plants up for the charity shop for delivery tomorrow if nothing else.
Hope @Valley Gardener is feeling better and the drugs are kicking in.
